Pink color background and on clothing in sunny shots using auto

\015 When taking outdoor pictures on auto setting, the picture have a pink background and clothing takes on pink streaks. this has only started recently. what is wrong?\015

Answers :

That is typically a bad CCD sensor.

To start you can take out batteries for a couple of minutes , but I do not think that will solve the problem.

The CCD sensor is the optical device that captures light and generate the picture on a digital camera.

Whe it is faulty it must be replaced at a repair centre.

Canon covers the repair expenses for CCD sensor replacement , even when warranty is expired on several of their models.
Call manufacturer at the number listed on the user manual to get information, if your model is in Canon list you may have the repair done for free, otherwise get a quote on repair.

When I shoot on Apeture Priority my pictures appear washed out. I have tried changing the F-stop from 2.8, going lower, but nothing seems to work. I have also adjusted my ISO. Photos from my Coolpix LS always appear extremely blue. When I use Photoshop to edit them I have to adjust the color balance on every shot. Sometime the "Auto Adjust" tool is enought. When it is not I move the Yellow/Blue adjustment all to about -85. I move the Majenta/Green adjustment to about -45 and I move the Cyan/Red adjustment to about +15. Is there something wrong with my CCD or is there a software fix for this problem?

A85 camera LCD shows up with pink and black lines every time a picture is taken. LCD screen displays the camera icons on LCD screen but will not take anymore photo's. Lens used to view picture status prior to photo shot but now, it consistently shows up in black. When a picture is shot, the screen then turns pink and black on the LCD screen.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. ... Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera

I also shot the same subject with a Cannon G10 and same settings. My Cannon photos were tack sharp, but my Olympus photos were not. Also, the Cannon colors were more realistic than the Olympus. I have a rebel xt 350D , using 75-300mm 5.6f lens to do some girls basketball photography inside a gym.
