Canon Powershot A630 - dark image in auto mode

\015 I have a Canon Powershot A630 and it will only take dark photos in auto mode. It seems other owners have had this problem too. Does anyone know of a simple solution yet? or is it a big repair job, in which case better to buy another camera? Would be grateful for any advice.\015

Could it have something to do with "white balance"? http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14108#SupportDetailAct

When the shooting mode is set to (Auto), the white balance will be\015\012applied automatically. However, with the (Auto) mode, the camera may\015\012not reproduce the natural color of the subject.

If this don't help, try their website and see if you can troubleshoot it. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14108#SupportDetailAct

If all fails, buy a newer Canon Powershot. I've tried the newer models and they seem good.

Blank screen My Canon Powershot SD600, when in picture taking mode, does not show any images on the screen -- it is dark. However, in video mode and play mode, it is just fine so I know the screen still works. And it can take pictures, I just can't see anything!

Canon Powershot G10 image quality problems... I have had my Canon Powershot G10 for 2 years and have had the same problem from the start... it is now driving me mad! When viewing photos in anything other than the supplied Canon Zoom Browser or Photo Professional the quality is poor. The images are noticeably blurred and appear grainy.
