When it seemed the files were damaged on the camera, have you tried to read them from a computer using a reader (many laptops have SD readers built in)?\015\012
\015\012If the data is there on the PC, better take the camera to service before the problem becomes more severe.\015\012If on the PC the data is damaged, try using another card, if everything  is OK with the other one, discard the problem card or try to clean the contacts as follows:\015\012
\015\012Remove\015\012card, put it on table with gold contacts facing up, use a cotton tipped stick\015\012with some ethyl alcohol (not alcohol drinks!) or isopropyl alcohol (many\015\012cleaning solutions like magnetic head cleaners) to thoroughly clean each\015\012contact. Avoid spilling and leaving drops on the card. Dry the card well before\015\012inserting it again. Never use water or other cleaning solutions or you'll ruin\015\012your card.

Also it is a good idea to use cards up to 2GB, as 4GB and bigger have different signalling and may cause problems with your camera.

If the card is moved to another camera it still show "file error". A new card will work until the same problem crops up. After that point the card seems to be permanently damaged.

Retrieving files pictures that were recently stored on the micro sd card cannot be viewed anymore. We do not remember deleting the pics manually. Question: Are there other ways of deleting pictures from the cam aside from doing it manually? If the pics were accidentally deleted, how can we retrieve them? Some of the files that have been stored onto my SD from the camera are screwey. For example, some photos and videos are able to be seen while others say this file isn't supported on the camera when editing or when on the pc, it says something about not having the correct graphics converter. Oddly, icons display just fine and stored pictures can be viewed clearly on the display. This problem occurred without warning (it was not dropped or damaged) and the camera is just one year old. Have you ever encountered this? I?ve read the entire manual and can?t find anything on the problem.
