Batteries "depleted" my camera was working perfect with some rechargeable NiMh batteries i had bought, giving me about 400 shots / charge. However at one point, for no apparent reason, when i used them, they would be shown as 'depleted' by the camera after about 4-5 shots, shutting the camera down. It stayed like this so I decided to buy a set of new NiMh batteries, i bought panasonic brand. Ok.  So far this has worked for me.  I had exactly the same problem and called Canon service after reading your post.\015\012
\015\012This is what they said to do, even though it sounds a little hocus-pocus:\015\012
\015\012• take out the batteries & camera card\015\012• clean the battery contacts ON THE CAMERA (those bumpy little things) with an eraser\015\012• click the camera on/off button 10 x\015\012• click the "take photo" button 10 times\015\012• put in newly charged batteries.\015\012
\015\012Hint:  Remove batteries every night. Never leave batteries in for more than 24 hours.  \015\012
\015\012So this has now worked for 20 minutes!  There's hope!\015\012
I have used only rechargable bateries with capacity over 2000 nmh

I just recently bought a kodak zd710. When i received the product, i turned on the camera and i was immediately prompted to set the date and time. Once i finished, the batteries that the camera came with had quit on me. So i went out and bought new batteries, and when i went to turn the camera on again, the LCD screen did not light up. Battery drainage I have had my olympus sp-550 uz for approx 18 months, and was getting around 175 shots even when using zoom a lot. I am now getting only 20 - 30 shots using new batteries and also getting total drainage over night at times when my camera is turned off. I have been using the same make and type of batteries since I bought the camera.

20 to 30 shots on "fresh" batteries! Do you use the flash on all shots. That really drains them. I would try to set the camera to "factory default settings" in case you changed something that is causing a drain. I hope you just bought some bad batter ... Olympus SP-550 UZ Digital Camera

Will a 1500 mAh battery work in a Kodak DX 7590? The original battery was a 1700 mAh. Everything else is the same as the original battery. I thought the original battery was going dead and wouldn't re-charge, so I bought a new battery. The camera acts like it wants to turn on, but doesn't. The power comes on briefly, but camera lens doesn't open. The ring around the settings dial flashes green., then turns to red, and shuts off. Please help!!!! I love this camera!!!

The answer is YES, the Kodak DX 7590 can be supported by a Li-Ion 1700 mAh battery. The only difference is that the 1700 last longer. Just make sure the one you just purchased is fully charged. Otherwise, exchange that battery from the store you b ... Kodak EasyShare DX7590 Digital Camera

Camera was dropped in water for just seconds. It won't change between modes: play, video rec, and still shot. It is constantly in still shot mode. The battery dies quickly. I bought a new battery and it still dies quickly. Pictures taken have vertical lines and often are whited out. Anything I can do to fix this? I changed the batteries in my Power Shot A720 IS recently when the low battery warning flashed, and had taken only two photos when the warning flashed again. I moved the mode switch to playback and the screen went dark "Change batteries now" appeared. Samsung s500 I just bought this camera about 8 months ago, but it has never seemed to work right. It goes thru batteries like crazy. It will only take about 3 pics for every new set of batteries I put in it. I think I have spent more in batteries now han I originally did on the camera. Someone said to get rechargable batteries, this would be cost effective, however does not solve my problem of 3 pics before I would have to recharge. What can I do?

I put in a freshly charged battery and go shoot a youth football game. After a series of shots, my battery is "dead". I turn the camera off and then back on and can get a few more shots before it goes dead again. I have bought brand new batteries (I now have 3) and the problem occurs with each one. Any suggestions?

It will not hold the charge in the rechargable batteries and also when I replace them with Duracel I can only take about 10 photos and then the camera tells me that the batteries are depleted and shuts down.I have also bought new rechargable batteries but the problem still persists.

I think I'm going to explode if I hear one more "worn out battery" explanation for what seems to be a pretty common complaint. This is my 3rd camera...all ending up with the same problem. I've had the Canon Power Shot A570 for less than a year. Someone suggested changing the settings...but even with brand spanking new batteries, I can't even get it to last long enough to get into the settings. There is clearly a problem here that has NOTHING to do with the blasted batteries.

Sounds like you have a faulty board in the camera or it could be something as simple as a software upgrade, I know some of the Fuji Hine Pix had the same problem and it was the software. Take it back to the Canon. ... Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

DARK PICTURES I just bought a Konica Minolta X1 DiMAGE digital camera. But I bought it used. We have a Canon Power Shot A570 IS, purchased October 30, 2007. We have purchased new AA-size NiMH batteries for it but the problem remains. Whenever you turn it on it shows "Batteries Low" and shuts itself off. You might be able to take 1 or 2 pictures before the batteries low light comes on. I understand that lithium batteries will not work in this camera. Please advise. Thanks, Eileen

Blurry images I purchased about a year ago a new Panasonic DMC-TZ4. And up until this point, I was in love with this camera. However, just recently, sometimes when I turn the camera on, the screen is showing images to be out of focus and blurry. All the settings are correct. Some times it stays like this for hours. Other times, I can turn the camera off and then back on and the blurriness goes away. Twice the camera has frozen and I had to take the battery out. And some times when I turn the cam

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens ... Panasonic DMC-TZ4 Digital Camera
