How to take a picture with the Canon PowerShot A75 using the self timer?
On the back of the camera there is a button with a clock picture (usually with only one hand). Press this button and watch the screen. You will be given the choice of 2 or 10 seconds.(that varies with camera model). Pick one (usually 10 seconds is better) and push set. Press the shutter button and get in front of the camera...smile.

Canon A510 Powershot camera will not stay powered on when I turn it on in picture-review mode. It comes on for a second --> Canon screen flashes on -- and then shuts off. In picture-taking mode, it seems to be fine. It stays on. But if I switch to review mode, it turns off. I've changed the batteries. It was fine last time I used it, last week. I left it plugged into the PC for a few days, if that makes any difference.
