Canon G2 flash causes weird orangey-brown shadows around people
\015 When I don't use the flash outside, all is fine. Inside, especially where light is not great, using the flash causes pictures where the color balance is really off. The overall photos are yellowish and there are orangey-brown halos around people What could be causing this?\015
Sounds like your shutter speed is set too low. If you are in manual exposure control, check that your shutter speed is at least 1/60th or higher. If the camera is in automatic, check to see that you ARE NOT in the "slow-sync" flash mode.

Canon sd900 I seldom use my canon sd900 and I usually take pictures without using the flash. But I recently noticed that my hands should be very very steady, just a slight movement will cause the picture to be blurry or unclear. I usually don?t use the flash because it gives a darker background with your face too white from the flash. And my problem arises when I would request other people to take my picture because 90% don?t have a steady hand thus giving me a blurry picture.
Try a higher ISO speed (suggest 400). Look in your camera's instruction book to find out how to do this. ... Digital Cameras
Canon 1400 IS: When I take a picture using flash of a close up object, a shadow is cast on the lower right corner of the picture. For pictures that are not taken close up with flash, or taken from further away and just zoomed in to the object, does not have this issue. Do you know what could be causing this shadow issue?
It's most likely the shadow of the lens. The flash is above and to the left of the lens, so the shadow of the lens will be to the right and below. ... Digital Cameras

Just had my Canon Powershot s1 is flash explode in my face at a meeting with over 30 people attending. I took a picture, the flash went up and suddenly it popped so loud that people ducked. There was also a fire/smoke smell coming from the flash area. Very scary. Those witnessing said they would back me up if suit filed. Checked the batteries and they work fine. The camera will take pictures still but without a flash. Hear of anything like this before? Recall issue?

Harsh shadows we are trying to take pictures for a friend's small wedding - at the rehearsal today we practiced picture taking with both a Canon Rebel XSI (using both the regular lense and adding a telephoto lense) and a Canon PowerShot S5-IS. The problem is that we are getting a lot of pictures that have a 'hard' shadow on the people in them. It doesn't appear to be a regular shadow because it doesn't 'land' on the different surfaces behind them, but is more like a shadow attached to them. Any

Hi there. I suddenly have a problem focusing my canon digital rebel xt. I have done nothing different to it, but cannot get it to focus AT ALL now. I am a professional photographer so tried other troubleshooting routes that I thought might cause focus problems (i.e. not enough light; played around with the shutter speed, f stops. etc.). I also took battery out, and put back. I took lens off and put back on. Any other ideas that you can suggest that would be causing this problem? Thank you for yo

My Canon Powershot A95 now has the problem described in great detail all over the web...purple screen of death..that indicates a highly probable ccd failure. Fresh batteries and new compact flash card does nothing. I have a Canon Rebel XSI. Lately, when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. I know there's a charged battery -- two, actually, because there's a battery grip. When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics.
