Shutter speed on the auto mode of my s1000 camera seems slow. how can it be increased in the auto mode? This is a Fuji camera and by the time I press the shutter button subjects have moved. I have set the camera back to the original factory settings and I can adjust the shutter speed in the manual position but in auto it seems really slow.

You need to press the shutter button half-way and allow the camera to lock in the focus before you press the rest of the way. This eliminates "shutter lag". ... Fuji FinePix S1000FD Digital Camera

I have a FinePix F440 Digital Camera. It worked really well until recently when using auto shots and even portrait shots seem to let so much light in you can barely see the image. The shutter speed seems really slow as thought it is sticking. It still works ok in movie mode. Help!!

Nikon D80 with a Sigma Lens (80 to 200 I think). In manual mode, often shutter won't release - this was a close up of a hummingbird with a fast shutter speed. Internal light meter showed underexposed, but the background was dark green. Initially, the shutter released, but later would not operate either with a remote, or by manually depressed the shutter release button. Switching back to auto, the camera seemed to work fine, but in this mode could not get the desired shutter speed. In full manual

Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. In other words I cannot be shooting in the Auto mode and then switch to "flash off auto"....all that happens is that the auto focus works but the shutter will not operate. If I switch the camera off and on however, I can t

The flash no longer works. In "auto" and in either the "auto flash" mode or "forced flash" mode no flash occurs. It is not in "suppressed flash" in the "portrait" screen position mode. I was at a basketball game last night and taking pictures with the d80 and the 55-200 lens. All of the pictures I took in auto focus were blurry. I changed it to the S mode with shutter speed at 4000 and those pictures came out completely dark with nothing in the picture. I changed the setting to the sports mode and the shutter speed is not fast enough because I have the same issue with blurring or out of focus.

Shutter Lag-Time The shutter lag-time on this camera seems quite long to me. I have read the manual that came with the book as well as a "short course" book on the G6 and this isn't really mentioned. I am wondering if this is a problem unique to my camera or if others have noticed this. In "AUTO" mode it is the worst. Am I missing something, or is this just the way the camera operates?

The G5 has a rather short shutter lag and a rather lengthy focus lag. So if you half depress the shutter release to focus, and then moments later fully depress the shutter release I expect you will find very little lag. But I would not expect a prosu ... Canon PowerShot G6 Digital Camera
