Having problems with your Canon PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera ?

I lent my camera to a friend and it has returned all changed. Every photo I take, I have to use the tiny roller on the left side of the viewfinder, to focus. Is there a way I can just go back to the factory settings ~ I suspect he changed something to do with the zoom?

Lost Pictures Our company has the Sony MVC-CD500 digital camera. I recently used this camera to take several pictures while on a job site. Back at the office, I could view the pictures in the camera's viewfinder, but was unable to download to my PC. The camera was unable to finalize, so my IT person used some software to try to read the disk and was unable. The mini-CD does have something on it as we were able to detect the change in color on the CD. Is there any way to recover these pictures? T

Is there any way I can get my camera back to normal! I turned it on and it said "focus error". When I shut it off to see if it would start over correctly it would not close the lens. I turned it on and the lens closed and then opened again and wouldn't focus. I turned it off and the lens won't shut. How weird is that? It obviously is capable of opening and closing but seems to be reversed and makes a funny noise when it can't shut at the right time. Can I wiggle or giggle something? I bo

Purchased a PowerShot G6 in 2005, and use it almost daily for product shots. The other day I accidentally hit the menu and changed something; I don't know what I did. Went back to default settings, now everything is 'grainy' and when I click the shutter, it sounds different than it used to... 'slower' is best way to describe.

Sometimes the focus goes completely out and there is no way to correct it. Turning the camera off and on uually corrects the issue, but then after 5-10 shots the same thing happens. Often, after restarting the camera there is a flashing E: 61:00 in the viewfinder. If feels as if something in the lens moves when it does happen. That can be felt in the hands.

Every time I power up my D5000, and press the shutter button half way (to auto-focus) the image in the viewfinder shakes, and after a few seconds the image shifts slightly and something internal seems to lock into place. After this, all functions are normal, but this issue is annoying, and obviously not right. Any ideas?

Fujifilm A330 My camera is doing something rather strange; it's always switched on by sliding the front shutter open all the way, and it's ceased turning on when I do that. My dad and I figured out that we can get it to turn on by holding the 'on' button in the back, but it won't get out of the menu/blue 'no image' LCD display for reviewing pictures. Viewfinder jammed The viewfinder is out of focus and does not move when the zoom control is operated. The main lens mechanism seems to work, the field of view changes on the LCD display and pictures taken are in focus. Perhaps the zoom mechanism makes more noise than it did. Does anyone know how the viewfinder is adjusted and whether repair is likely to be feasible? Thanks

I have a D5000 camera w/ kit lens VR 55-200, less than a year old. Recently and only occasionally what is happening is when I press the shutter release button, the lens won't focus, it won't move in or out and it makes a odd noise, not the usual lens motor noise, but an odd squeaking noise, like it's trying to move but is stuck. I had my D5000 for a month now, recently i noticed something with my camera. looking though the viewfinder only, whenever i focus (half pressing the shutter button), the view from the viewfinder moves up, and without making the shot and letting go the half-pressed shutter button, the view from the viewfinder then moves down to its original position. These movements are noticeable just through the viewfinder with the VR on. But without the VR, the view from the viewfinder makes no movement. i don

Nikon Coolpix S50 has screwey autofocus when I shoot close-up. I select my subject, center it within my frame, depress the shapsot button half-way in order to initiate the autofocus function... The camera then begins to slide between out-of-focus, to in-focus, then keeps on going to out of focus again, and then slides "back" to an out of focus position! I understand that it is "looking" for the sharpest image as it does this--- but what it consistently selects is NOT the sharpest image! Ide

Focus problems I have 2 digital cameras already so I know to hold the button down 1/2 way for focusing. The Nikon is new. I HATE manuals. I am having trouble focusing on close up shots. They are either real blurry or slightly out of focus. It seems the shutter speed is so slow that any movement of my hand ruins the shot. I can take a shot of something, a plant for instance, pulled in fairly close. One shot may be ok and the next one is blurry

There are two likely reasons for the blurry pictures. One possibility is, as you surmised, a slow shutter speed. Try mounting the camera on a tripod or other stable support. You might also try turning on the flash. The other reason is focu ... Digital Cameras

We have just got a Wii and the kids have changed something so when we go back to the DVD it plays with the people looking green. I think they have changed the cords connecting into the TV. They say they never actually touched the DVD player. There are five cords - red, yellow, white then a green and blue. When you move the blue one it changes it all to black and white. Most are colour coded to the same colour as the plugs on the tv.

Fuji finepix s1500 - difficult to get it to focus at close macro. I found that I have to have the lens at its widest angle for the camera to focus on a close subject - like at 2 cm like the manual says. If I zoom up just a bit then the focus changes and my close subject is out. Is this the way it is supposed to operate?

Yes. You won't have the same macro focussing ability at all focal lengths. But usually the important thing is that it's not how close the camera can focus, but how large the image is, so you'll often find that a longer focal length (i.e. ... Digital Cameras

Focusing Problems I just bought the Canon 20d. I shot a wedding with it two weeks ago, and really liked how it performed in low light. However, I noticed a lot of my photos from the low lit reception came back out of focus. (The outdoor ceremony shots were fine). I noticed 3 issues with the images: 1-The main subject, which often was dead center and took up 1/2 to 2/3 of the frame, was often NOT in focus.
