Having problems with your Canon PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera ?
I have the canon eos 50D and I have to take professional phots on new years eve at a dance. What settings would I use?
You might consider using a tripod which will help a lot in poor light, and/or a flash attachment but the lighting and the scene is likely to vary considerably in different shots. You might be better on whatever automatic settings are available but you could take a few flash shots, and some without, and see which you prefer. In manual mode you can use spot metering to fix on the main subject with half pressed shutter release before framing each shot, as is often very useful anyway, and also adjust the exposure with + and - EV to taste and try different ISO (lower ISO numbers = more grainy but less exposure time needed). Mainly could you do some trial runs to build experience and confidence?

Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

Flashless photograghy I bought a this camera about a month ago. I would like to know what settings I need to put it on so I can take good pictures of a stage performence without having to use my flash. Canon EOS Rebel XT with EFS 18-55mm lens. Trouble-free for two years. During a weekend of lots of use, suddenly the camera would not autofocus. Switching to manual focus, the camera worked. Then it started working okay in autofocus. Later that day quit altogether. (Would not release shutter even in manual mode.) Removed the lens and cleaned the contacts on both lens and camera, started working okay but only temporary. Went through several cycles of this over the weekend, so I'm not sure

How do you put the flash off on the canon 50D, while shooting in P? I would like to take photos of my daughter's first dance concert tonight, and we are not allowed to use a flash. Alternatively, which setting should be good in low light? Thanks

What are the optimal settings for my digital camera? I have a brand new Canon PowerShot 12.1-Megapixel Digital ELPH camera, but I've been really disappointed in the quality of pictures it takes. For example, sometimes there are these smallish blurred white circles on the pictures. Can you recommend optimal settings that I should be using? I use my camera indoors and occasionally outdoors, so whatever settings best cover all different conditions would be ideal.
Small white circles usually means dust on the lens. Remove the dust with a blowerbrush - not a tissue.\012You are asking for a "1 size fits all" solution for your settings, and indoor and outdoor use really means different settings.   ... Canon PowerShot 12.1-Megapixel Digital ELPH Camera - Silver
I have a Canon Digital EOS Rebel XT and the built-in flash no longer pops up when needed. This started happening after using a Canon speedlite, but then removing it. I've tried resetting everything, and tried all modes expecting that the ones listed in the manual as using a flash would work, but they dont, it never pops up. I lifted up the flash with my fingernail manually, and then tried taking a picture where a flash was most definitely needed, but it still had a long delay, no flash, and

Hi i just bought a canon eos rebel from someone online and it has a 28-80 lens. I try to use it and i noticed the focus is very loose, is that normal? I dont know alot about cameras but i have used manual cameras before and i have never used one with such a loose focus. And also would i lose slight focus if its like that when i go and take a picture?
Your camera is primarily an autofocus model: manual focussing is very much a secondary feature and is always very free moving. If it were any other way then it would cause the AF motor to work much harder and dramatically shorten the battery life. ... Canon EOS Rebel 2000 with 28-80 lens 35mm Film Camera
I have an older (not digital) Canon EOS Rebel 2000 camera. I haven't used it for a couple of years and now when I went to use it I loaded the film. No problem. Just started using Canon Rebel EOS XSI that we got last year. Landscape picures are not crisp and clear even using landscape mode. What are we doing wrong?
