Having problems with your Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera ?
I make jewelry. I am trying to zoom in for detailed pics. But I can't seem to get my PS S3 IS to focus. What am I doing wrong?
Are you using a lens with macro capabilities?
On the left side of the lens barrel are 2 button. the bottom one has a \012flower icon. press it 1 time for macro, and again for super macro. the \012icon on your monitor will show a flower with an "s" inside. you can get \012so close that the lens itself blocks the light, so be careful. But to \012get super sharp, (and this is awkward..) open the lcd, hold the top \012button on the left side of the lens barrel, (MF) while you move the \012arrow keys (on the round button back side). watch the image for \012sharpness.

Hello. I bought my Powershot SX1 IS in April 2010, and have never felt I could get good photos with it. The 'noise' seems bad, when I playback and zoom in just one notch, definately worse, the more I zoom. The color is often poor, and the focus on close-ups is not sharp. Would you say this is the best this camera can do, or would you say there is something wrong with this particular one. (I always have it set at highest resolution , often 100 ISO, try the set of three exposures to get diffe

My old camera was an Olympus Camedia c-765 digital. My new one is an Olypmus SP-800UZ 14 megapixel. The more I use the SP-8OOuz the more disappointed with the pictures I take. None of them seem sharply in focus like they were with the Camedia camera. Am I doing something wrong or is it a failing in the camera? I have tried most of the multiple settings but I am just not satisified. I thought with having more megapixels I would get a better picture. Am I wrong? Thank you
No, you are not wrong. When there are more pixels, the picture must be more clearly and you can zoom it more. Because you have experience with another Olympus camera, I'm inclined to believe that\012\012\012something is wrong with your new came ... Olympus SP800UZ Digital Camera
I have a canon EF 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens that has a zoom lock switch. When in the unlocked position and I try to zoom the lens it sticks at around the 200mm mark and cannot seem to move it below that positon, I need to wiggle the barrel before the zoom seems to "let go" and the lens goes to other positions. This is quite a problem as the lens cannot be operated in all its positions. Also when trying to get it unstuck, it feels like I am applying too much force and could further damage

Wont Focus I dropped the camera from my tall dresser about 5 feet and now it wont focus. It makes a clicking noise when I try to zoom in. Also when I zoom in it gets dark around the coners of the screen. Can we fix this or do we need to take it in and get it repaired.
If its making a noise when you try to zoom in and out I would suspect physical damage. The more you mess with it the greater the chances of damaging it beyond economic repair. I would take it to the local authorized canon repair shop. ... Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera
I have a new k20D I have had it less than a week and I can't seem to get the auto focus to work. I am wondering if I have a setting wrong but I reviewed the manual and I don't think I am missing something but maybe I am.

Zoom lens mis-focusing. The lens "wizzes" in and out trying to focus. The lens will eventually "settle-into" focus; but sometimes this takes a number of seconds to accomplish. Zoom error Today after using my camera for awhile the back screen displayed "zoom error" and a little sound whirled. Then the camera shut off by itself.
