Having problems with your Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera ?
Aperture priority and image size
\015 I have a Canon Powershot S3 IS. I have the image size set to 2816x2112. I have the compression set to Superfine. When I shoot in Auto mode it is fine. But when I shoot in AP (I have it set to F8) the image reverts to 640x480. This seems to have happened very recently. I have been using the AP mode set to F8 for some time with the image size remaining at 2816x2112. I am assuming I must have pressed some button somewhere on the camera that has produced this result but I just can't figure out how to fix it. Please help!\015
Auto and the other settings each have an independent image size that the camera remembers. You need to set the image size for AP. Go to AP mode and press FUNC. The image size should show up in the left menu (it may say L, M1, M2, S, standing for Large, Medium, and Small, resolution settings). Select it and choose a different size that you'd prefer (believe that you want L). Then press FUNC again to exit the menu.

Overexposure problem I am using a Canon Rebel and have it set for RAW, 100ISO, and am deliberately Underexposing by 1 stop, but I am still getting Overexposed images. I have a nikon d200. The last time I used it (only a few days ago) it was fine, everything normal. Then yesterday I pull out out of the case and everything seems to be going wrong. It is metering INSANELY low, like a shutter speed of 100 in full daylight produces a REALLY dark image. It won't auto focus at all, and i am unable to change the fstop in manual or aperture priority modes. I tried to restore it to factory settings and the lcd screen flashed to indicate it had been restored but no luck

I own a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 with a 4GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo. After taking several images, the camera started changing the viewing size of some images. These images look OK when I hook the camera up to my computer to view, but when I try and view them on the camera, they have shrunk to the size of a postage stamp! I have tried reformating the memory stick, but this did not seem to help. Also, I occasionaly loose images when I go back to view them - the screen goes blue with a file forma

I have strange digital image file size problems. For example, if I upload a 6 mb file to my photo sharing website (Google Picasa) at the highest resolution, it will indicate that it is only 1.8 mb. After downloading the same file from the website, it indicates that it is 1.8 mb, however, the dpi and size of the image in inches, in Corel Photopaint, multiplies out to be the same as the original (96 dpi x 38.67 in vs. 72 dpi x 29 in), and when I resave the jpg with Photopaint, the file size incr
Hey Tom; this always hurts my brain, but here goes. Your image file is 6mb. That's the easy part. When it is saved in the .jpg format, it is "compressed" in order to store more images on a memory card or hard drive or CD etc. . Otherwise the sheer si ... Digital Cameras
My Vivitar Series 1 24-70 manual focus ais lens won't work on program in my Nikon FA. I bought both new, but have stored them for a long time. My Dimage A1 camera has been fuctioning perfectly. Recently, I changed from JPEG to RAW and took several images. I now am attempting to return to JPEG without success. How can i imorove the Image qualityt? My camera image size has always been set on 'large & fine' which tranlates into a 300dpi image when I open it in Photoshop. Suddenly, large and fine only puts out a 180dpi image. Do you know what might have happened to lower the image quality?

On my d90, under M (manual mode or aperture priority), the aperture on the readout goes beyond the actual aperture range; i.e. f3.5 - 5.6; readings will show aperture range of 5 - 29 when I scroll with the sub command dial; sometimes when i remove the battery it returns to normal; how can i fix this problem permanently?
There is NOT a problem. The f3.5-5.6 indicates the maximum aperture in the zoom range. At 18mm the maximum aperture is f3.5, at 105mm it's f5.6. The minimum aperture ranges from f22 to f38.\012\012\012So, at 18mm, the aperture can range f ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

I have a Canon S30 digital camera and a Macbook running OS x 10.5.8.
