UNIQUE PROBLEM: Camera stuck on Movie mode
\015 Hi, hope someone can help. I recently dropped my ixus 40 on the floor whislt it was ON after picking it up I noticed it was on movie mode even though the switch was set to picture mode.\015\012\015\012I tried turning off and back on again but it doesnt help no matter what i do its stuck on movie mode. None of the buttons work apart from the power button. The lens still works fine and opens and closes with the power button.\015\012\015\012So its pretty much useless, my pc doesnt detect it either.\015\012\015\012Any help much appreciated!!!\015
It's a small world. I have an Ixus V2 on the bench with exactly the same problem.\015\012\015\012The sliding button on the camera mates with a switch soldered to a flat ribbon cable inside the camera. There are two small teeth which move the internal switch left ot right. What's happened is one of those plastic teeth has snapped off the external part and now it can't push the switch anywhere. If you pulled the camera apart you could push the switch into either record or review but that's it. It will stay in either of those positions. Which is a bummer. The only way to fix it is to buy the complete flat cable ribbon with switch attached and boy it's a long cable.\015\012\015\012Except for sending it away for repairs (expensive) buy a damaged one on Ebay and do a transplant. Just make sure it's suffering the same fault.

Hello, I have a problem with my camera (Samsung digimax L60). When it is on movie mode it is ok. The problem is when making pictures. The output (the picture made) has a lot of light and in the picture can be seen even the shadows of the objects within the frame (e.g. the shadow a cable, the person if it is moving etc). the fact that the short movies are fine when I replay them, makes me think that the camera itself it is not broken. And that there might be some mistake with the setup ... Can y

I can only turn on my Cybershot DSC-N2 while the camera is in playback mode. I can look at the pictures and videos and change settings with no problem.. but when I try to switch to camera or video record mode the camera turns off by itself. Sometimes the lens will come out and then the camera powers down with the lens stuck out. Other times it just shuts off before the lens even has a chance to come out. The camera has never been dropped or damaged.

Power/lens Problems I'm having some power/lens problems with my camera. When I turn on the power in either the picture or video mode, the green light will turn on for a split second then turn off. The lens does not come out at all. However, when I try to turn it on with the picture viewer or in the menu it works just fine. When I start with the picture viewer and then switch to the camera it turns off. Thus it seems that whenever I want to take a picture or a movie the camera doesn't work.

Dead battery? I have been searching everywhere for help on this problem and so far, no luck! My camera will turn on but as soon as it does, it shuts itself off again. The lens is stuck in zoom mode and won't retract. I tried charging the battery but every time I try, it will only charge for about 5 minutes and then says the charge is full. Is this a problem with the battery? Charger? Or is the battery fine and it's a problem with the camera? Any suggestions?

Shutter Lag-Time The shutter lag-time on this camera seems quite long to me. I have read the manual that came with the book as well as a "short course" book on the G6 and this isn't really mentioned. I am wondering if this is a problem unique to my camera or if others have noticed this. In "AUTO" mode it is the worst. Am I missing something, or is this just the way the camera operates?
The G5 has a rather short shutter lag and a rather lengthy focus lag. So if you half depress the shutter release to focus, and then moments later fully depress the shutter release I expect you will find very little lag. But I would not expect a prosu ... Canon PowerShot G6 Digital Camera
