Having problems with your Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera ?

I was trying to protect some pictures and now I have locked the memory card. How do I get it unlocked and the pictures unprotected so I can erase them?

Answers :

You cannot lock the SD card from menu, if the card reselt protected it can be damaged, the first thing to do is download the pictures to computer. Protected pitures can be downloaded normally.

If you instead need to remove protection from pictures, this must be done acting on the pictures one by one.
To remove protection go to play meny , select the function Lock, then press Funct/Set button twice to remove protection.

If that does not work take out the SD memory card and check that the tiny tab on one side of the card had not been set to lock position.

If card is still locked, take out the card, put in a computer with card reader , and format the SD card.
Remove camera batteries for one minute, so to reset settings, then put the newly formatted card back into the camera.

Manual available here.
