There might just be a smudge or fingerprint on the lens, that's enough to cause that to happen to the center of an image. Get some lens cloth on a q-tip and try to gently wipe it clean. If the image is really grainy and the camera has recently been dropped the sensor is damaged. Let's hope for the smudge.

Black screen When I try to take a picture all I can see is a black screen. I cannot see wht I am taking a icture of. Everything else on the camera works and the pictures turn out great I just can't get them centered because I am guessing as to where I am focusing in when taking the picture.

You may have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off to save battery power. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place to center your pictures (that little gl ... Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Camera

The focal length on my Nikon S52 Coolpix seems to be much shorter than it was originally. No matter the adjustment I make to the settings, at least part of the photo is extremely blurry. I have tried both with Auto-Focus on and off, but there is always a small square in the center of the view finder, and this is only region that shows a focused image. The camera used to produce sharp images throughout the picture. How can I adjust this?

I was at a basketball game last night and taking pictures with the d80 and the 55-200 lens. All of the pictures I took in auto focus were blurry. I changed it to the S mode with shutter speed at 4000 and those pictures came out completely dark with nothing in the picture. I changed the setting to the sports mode and the shutter speed is not fast enough because I have the same issue with blurring or out of focus.

However, when attempting to take a picture the picture is out of focus and when I zoom IN it gets clearer but then the camera beeps 2 times and shuts off and closes up. It will let me snap an out of focus picture though. Is there any hope? This camera was expensiveand we've only had it a year. Thanks

I also have the problem of pictures not in focus. I have made a point to lock in first by pushing halfway down before snapping the picture.
