Having problems with your Canon PowerShot SD630 Digital ELPH / IXUS 65 Digital Camera ?

How do I

\015 I dropped my camera on the floor when it was on. It's a Cannon Powershot SD630 Digital Elph. Now the lense is stuck out and it wont take any pictures. It keeps telling me "lens error, restart Camera" . How do i restart it if it wont let me go to the menu or anything. Is there anything I can do at home to fix it?\015

Hi

\015\012What you are seeing is a generic message that means there is\015\012some sort of problem with the lens, yours is due to the impact damage when you dropped it.
\015\012
\015\012A couple solutions would be to either buy a defective camera online and\015\012make one good camera from the two if you can do that sort of thing\015\012yourself, or secondly have it repaired by somebody.
\015\012
\015\012Don't bother\015\012trying to send the camera to Canon if it is out or warranty (though you can call them and verify\015\012what I'm about to say) because they will want $150+ to do the repair\015\012for you. Parts are not cheap to buy from them.
