Answers :

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use the EOS utility or any other photo cataloging program.

Upon connecting my camera to my computer, and launching the EOS Utility, the options to download the images, select images, or camera settings are shaded out. In order to transfer pictures, I have to go into "My Computer", open up the camera and copy and paste it. I'm trying to download photos from the comera onto my computer. The USB cable is connected. I changed "communication" on the camera to PC connection (which made the "busy" flashing disappear). But I still can't download. ZoomBrowser cannot detect the camera and EOS Utility won't even pop up anymore. Before changing communications it would pop up but would only offer the option to manage folders, not to download.

Relatively new canon eos 60d. Was taking multiple pictures in a group setting. Received an error that the lens and the camera were not connected well (I receive this from time to time, need to buy a newer lens). Usually, I just turn the camera off and then back on and it works fine. This time, the view through the viewfinder is very dark and it will take no pictures of any kind. Tried everything I know- no luck.
