Having problems with your Canon PowerShot SD750 / IXUS 75 Digital Camera ?

Canon Powershot SD750 powers up fine; lens extends fine. The LCD is black. I can see a faint image - enough to enter the menu and change settings. Increasing brightness has no effect. Seems like the screen has gone bad. Any suggestions??

Answers :

It's not the screen, but its backlight that is the problem. It's likely a poor connection of the ribbon cable in its connector socket. This problem will require either professional repair, or your opening the case to reseat the backlight ribbon cable in its connector. Here's a disassembly of a somewhat similar SD600 to give you an idea of what's involved.

I have a nikon d200. The last time I used it (only a few days ago) it was fine, everything normal. Then yesterday I pull out out of the case and everything seems to be going wrong. It is metering INSANELY low, like a shutter speed of 100 in full daylight produces a REALLY dark image. It won't auto focus at all, and i am unable to change the fstop in manual or aperture priority modes. I tried to restore it to factory settings and the lcd screen flashed to indicate it had been restored but no luck

Frozen Lens I just dropped poor camera on to the carpet from about a foot! Everything seems to work except the shooting mode, the lens wont extend from the actual camera. The slider still goes across fully and the battery is in fine. I can go into quick view mode and still change settings etc. Is this likely to be expensive to fix?

How do I change pixel settings on olympus SP550UZ canera? We've had this camera for several years and managed to lower the resolution when we first bought it. Now we'd like to increase the pixel setting permanently, but can only manage to change the setting on a 'one by one' photo basis. Bright pictures I have had my Sony Cyber Shot (DSC-S650) for about 6 mo. I have tried all different settings for the flash but almost all of my pictures come out with the person very white and bright. The pictures are fine if taken outside in natural light but anything other than that and my pictures are very white and bright. I have even tried to turn the flash all the way down on the manual setting. This is the third Sony Cybershot camera that I have owned and have never needed to change any o

Images I seem to get yellowish images and images that are really dark even when I put the flash on. The flash seems weak, almost defected. But then in the next series of shots it will work and the picture will come out just fine. All of this in the same setting with the same subject and everything else a constant too.  Help please, it seems like I must be doing something wrong either that or my camera is broken. Intermittent problem The camera works fine for awhile then the 4-way selector suddenly will not change the menu. Or it gets stuck on full flash or no flash. The selections may get mixed up. My Sony DSC-T200 also vibrates periodically. I've never dropped it, and 90% of the time, its functioning just fine, but once in a while (usually for the duration of a whole event that I'd like to take pictures at), it vibrates very much like a cell phone with ringer set on vibrate. It seems to be the autofocus lense since the focus of the picture is also oscillating with the vibration. Is there a tooth on a gear broken or something? Is this camera prone to this? D60: I just got back from Certified Repair group where they said the camera is "okay". The Problem: It's like the ISO has shifted, and the readings on P, S, A, even M all result in a long exposure/wide open aperture reading. Frequently the reading is such that the shutter will not release, due to no focus or wrong light amount. Frequently the focus "peep" does not go off, and so the shutter will not release. I have a Nikon D80 and one day, I suddenly couldn't take pictures. When I turn my camera on, it automatically blinks the Err message. Trouble Connecting I went to upload my pictures onto my MacBook and the camera won't connect. It had been working fine before and I hadn't changed anything. I tried taking out batteries and memory card, switching USB ports, and making sure the camera was set on USB and not the disk setting.
