Having problems with your Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital Camera ?

I accidentally pressed the formatting button on my digital camera, canon powershot SD790 IS. Not knowing it erases all pictures. My question is can i get my pictures back, and if so how?

Answers :

The answer is it depends on whether or not you conducted a "low level" format or not. Such a format will actually write over the card making photo recovery unlikely. But with Canon cameras, format is normally a quick erase (which is recoverable), UNLESS you manually check the "low level format" box in the menu (did you do that?). But either way, there are numerous freeware software options available for photo recovery that may work for you. \015\012
\015\012Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

Do you know what it is? I am wondering if I need to take it back in.
