Having problems with your Canon PowerShot SX120 IS Digital Camera ?

Hi, we just bought the Canon PowerShot SX 120 and have found that it produces a "halo effect" around all white objects in photos and videos. We have reset it to factory settings and the problem continues. Has anyone had the same problem? Do we need to return it?

Answers :

If it were my camera, I would go to the support section of the canon website and e-mail one of their techs with the problem....they can advise whether a fix is available or warranty service is recommended.

I have had my S9600 for 4 years, for most of that time, when i changed the batteries, all my settings remained the same. Now, when i change the batteries, every setting has returned to factory standard (stupid beeps and whirring noises, no date etc) and i have to reset everything. The user manual has no mention of an internal battery, but i figure there must be one and it now needs replacing. How do I do this?

My camera has refused to power up despite fresh batteries - I have had no response. I left it overnight as suggested in the manual - but still nothing. It hasn't been used for a few months and was left without batteries for fear of leaking. Any ideas ... Fuji Finepix S9600 Digital Camera

Olympus SP-550 UZ won't focus properly most of the time. Focus point should be infinity since my subjects are seascapes, sunsets and clouds. I've tried all 3 AF focus modes but none work consistently. I can get it to focus sometimes if point the camera at the ocean first. I've even tried manual focus but it won't focus to infinity. This camera is practically new, has never been dropped. Is this a known problem with this camera? Is it a settings problem (I've reset the camera to factory settings

Over exposure The exposure settings on the camera have suddenly become fixed - I can't change them either through fixing shutter speed, OEV, or any other settings. Even tried a factory reset by selecting 'initialize' from the menu, but the problem persists. High or low exposure settings are visible on the viewfinder (i.e. changing the settings shows the picture getting darker or lighter on the screen), but once the picture is shot, it's fixed at an overexposed state.

I have been having problems getting sharp pictures. Especially indoors. I have the cool pix 6000 and reset all my settings to the factory settings. My pictures indoors seem almost "filtered"...not sharp at all. I took some pics outside and they are great. Shouldn't the auto setting adjust to take great pics inside and out?? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a new (3 weeks) D700 and while taking photos yesterday with camera and a 16-35mm lens, the exposure meter went ape. Pictures taken ok but ERR started to flash where shutter speed reading should be displayed in viewfinder. Tried everything, including resetting to factory settings, detaching and reattaching lens, checking switches, and then went home in despair. At home I switched to a 50mm lens and the problem disappeared. I put the 16-35mm lens back and problem seemed to have disappeared.

Overexposure When I take any pictures, the images are overexposed. Recently while in the USA, the same problem happened and I took it in to a repair shop. They reset it to the "factory" settings and it had been working fine. Now it is happening again, but as I live out of the country, I can't take it to a repair shop. Is there a way for me to reset it myself.

This has nothing to do with the camera, but instead it has to do with the lens you are using. The standard lens you are using has an aperture of f/4.5 which is common across many lenses. If you wish to shoot in low light you need a lower "f-stop". ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

Flash has stopped working on my Nikon D40. I've tried a factory reset, tried to get to the flash setting but that menu option is no longer available (highlighted) in any mode. I'm thinking it's broken and not a setting thing. Everything else works fine and it still takes pictures just without the flash. The flash pops up when needed but no flash obviously.
