Image Stabilizer setting is not available!

\015 I have taken canon Powershot-SX20IS which comes with Image Stabilizer feature. But in my camera..., that feature itself is not available in the settings list. I have confirmed the same as per manual guidelines.., but its not there. What's the way to fix this ?\015

Answers :

With the camera in the Auto mode, the Image Stabilization is always on. If you want to turn it off or select another option (panning), you need to set the camera to a different mode. Mode P is close to Auto, but gives you the option to adjust a few parameters, such as IS Mode.

I have just bought a Lumix FZ18 camera (July 08). It worked perfectly on all settings at first, but has now developed an apparent fault in which it shows an overexposed image on all settings apart from automatic.
