Picture Size to Large?

\015 How to adjust the picture size when the camera takes photos.. Whereby using up the entire CARD SPACE? Standartd size is what I want 3x5 or 4x6 approximately..\015\012\015\012Every picture comes out 17x11 or thereabouts.\015\012Your suggestions are appreciated..\015

Answers :

That size that is being recorded is the default large pixel dimensions giving you the 17x11. You can reduce the pixel dimensions to something smaller like the medium and small settings, but you loose detail. You are better off using a photo editor to crop to the correct size on a computer like Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, Microsoft Picture editor and more.

\015\012Just about any photo kiosk at a mall or printing lab will auto crop to the size requested regardless of how big the file is. I always crop to the right size in Photoshop to submit my files online to a lab.
This may not be the solution; however, please obtain a larger capacity memory card.
\015\012A 2GB card will give you several hundred photos. Cost is less than $10.
\015\012You really should not lower the resolution. you will lose detail that you may want in the future (really). (4GB card will hold over 999 pictures - $15)
\015\012If you must lower the resolution, press "Menu" and use the arrows to move the highlight bar to "resolution" ... change it to a lower number like 6MP. keep the "FINE" setting in place (if your model has that setting) or maybe "BEST".
\015\012Do not use "RAW" - (very large pix).
\015\012Hope this helps!

Now the pics are 1.?? by 2.??. Does the JPEG change the size? How can I solve this. Fast.

Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 Resolution: 10,100,000 pixels I am selling my camper van on the web. I have taken photos of it with the above camera. My 6 month-old Nikon D90 has been acting-up for quite some time. I take ALL my pictures at LARGE size, as they may end up in competitions or exhibition. However, without warning, the size changes occasionally to SMALL or MEDIUM, often twice, or more, in the one day. I only discover this when I notice the number of frames left has doubled or more. I had the same problem with my previous camera, a D70, which I eventually gave away to a friend.

File size Hi, I have a Canon Digital Rebel and no instruction manual. I am trying to attach some photos of an item onto a craig's list ad but the pictures are too "large" (too much data) for craig's list to handle. How can I retake the pictures at a lower resolution? In other words, how do I adjust the camera setting to lower the resolution? Thanks, Steve

I have a D-80 Nikon with a small spot that always looks darker than the rest of the picture. It is only slightly darker than the rest of the picture and is usually only noticeable on a landscape or similar picture where the sky has a spot that looks like slightly darker blue sky.
