Having problems with your Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera ?

Autofocus jumps around and often will not settle on the correct setting

\015 My XT can't seem to find the correct autofocus point anymore. When I hold the shutter release down halfway, the camera tries to focus, but jumps in and out of focus over and over, until I get the flashing green circle in the lower right corner of the viewfinder (the camera can't figure out the correct focus point), or it decides it has focused correctly, but it's wrong. I can see various different AF point lights flashing in the viewfinder when it does find a focus point. Can anyone help with this?\015

This, most likely, is a problem with a ribbon connector from the CCD to the processor board. It can also be many things in the focusing system, including the "through the lens" exposure system. In a review I read, they suggest, in some varied l ... Pentax Digital Cameras

My Canon EOS rebel suddenly won't take pictures in dim light. The flash pops up and blinks and blinks trying to register the image but won't ever autofocus and take the picture. The light has to be very bright for it to take a picture. I have gone through all of the settings and everything seems to be correct. Any thoughts?

To autofocus the sensor needs a fair amount of contrast (light and dark eges) to operate. If you're trying to take a photo in a dim room of a dark colored subject for instance the focus won't lock and the camera won't take the picture. Try switching ... The shutter speed priority setting on my Canon 40D keeps jumping to a different speed that I haven't set. E.g - set at 200, jumps to 25 when I go to take a photo. I have spoken to Canon regarding the problem and they have suggested that I clear the user settings. This initially solved the problem for all of an hour, but the problem has now started up again. I'll probably be sending it in, as I think it might be a problem with the hardware, just thought I'd check here first. Any suggestio

Blurry pictures Using a point and shoot digital camera, it was set on night mode by mistake. Pictures turned out blurry. The snapshots were taken inside at night using flash in the camera. Probably because in night mode, camera was setting depth of field wrong. So using flash and set in night mode was the problem. But can anything be done to correct the blurry pictures taken in this situation?? Any software known to correct this problem? Thank's, Angela Sapp

Good Morning I went hiking in broad daylight this past weekend and the autofocus would not work. I have a Canon 40D with a TAmron 18-270. I used av, tv, p, m and auto and I could not autofocus the camera. All I could do is to switch to manual focus to get it to work. When the lens was set to AF all you could is hear is it racking back and forth tying to focus. VERY FRUSTRATING.. Any ideas of what it may be or a setting I might have set accidentally. Any help is appreciated. Bob

Hello. I bought my Powershot SX1 IS in April 2010, and have never felt I could get good photos with it. The 'noise' seems bad, when I playback and zoom in just one notch, definately worse, the more I zoom. The color is often poor, and the focus on close-ups is not sharp. Would you say this is the best this camera can do, or would you say there is something wrong with this particular one. (I always have it set at highest resolution , often 100 ISO, try the set of three exposures to get diffe

I'm using a Nikon D3100 with a 55-200mm lens, and I'm trying to set my aperture around 1.8 to shoot bokeh, but it won't let me set it lower then 4. I had a 18-55mm lens on earlier, and it wouldn't let me set it lower then 5. My ISO is at 100. Any idea how to set it lower?

You can't set the aperture any lower than the maximum aperture of the lens. This is engraved on the lens. It may say something like f4-6.3 or something similar meaning that f4 is the largest opening of that particular lens. If you find a 55-200mm len ... Nikon D3000 Digital Camera
