Having problems with your Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera ?

I try to take a picture in AF mode while the confirmation light in the viewfinder blinks, a picture cannot be taken, but in MF mode picture taken correctly what is the problem?..

Answers :

It's attempting to tell you that AF has failed. I'd expect low light, low contrast, reflective subject like a mirror or chrome. A solid colour wall with no contrast will also cause a AF failure. Auto Focus relies on contrast. Switching to manual mode shuts off the system and you can take a picture with nothing in focus.

Canon SD 550-- sensor problem? Bought 3/2006 and have had no problems. Suddenly, LED screen went black--shows nothing and cannot take a picture altho will flash and record black picture. Shooting options do appear on screen when in picture-taking mode. Can see pictures that were taken previously, however, while showing them on TV screen, camera shuts off. Is this an expensive repair. Thanks.

The shutter of the camera is not opening that is why every picture taken is recorded black. It is a mechanical problem and probably has nothing to do with the sensor. Not very expensive ... Canon Digital Cameras

HI All of a sudden, there is lets say no more image on the display or the image is purple and full of weird lines. No image at all and when I click to take a picture everything works out well: the flash the mechanism but no picture appears as taken Thanks. My fine pix has a similar problem . In movie mode it is fine but when I take snaps all images are found to have bright white horizontal lines , looks like a light sensor problem , no solution found so far . :(

When I turn the camera on, the canon logo appears on the display and the red light in back above the menu button keeps blinking, but nothing happens. When I turn it on in the "taking pictures" mode or "view pictures" mode, it just hangs and acts like it has trouble reading the CF card. I've tried multiple cards and had the same problem, so I think it's the camera and not the cards. Any ideas?

Blurry pictures Using a point and shoot digital camera, it was set on night mode by mistake. Pictures turned out blurry. The snapshots were taken inside at night using flash in the camera. Probably because in night mode, camera was setting depth of field wrong. So using flash and set in night mode was the problem. But can anything be done to correct the blurry pictures taken in this situation?? Any software known to correct this problem? Thank's, Angela Sapp

My Canon EOS rebel suddenly won't take pictures in dim light. The flash pops up and blinks and blinks trying to register the image but won't ever autofocus and take the picture. The light has to be very bright for it to take a picture. I have gone through all of the settings and everything seems to be correct. Any thoughts?

To autofocus the sensor needs a fair amount of contrast (light and dark eges) to operate. If you're trying to take a photo in a dim room of a dark colored subject for instance the focus won't lock and the camera won't take the picture. Try switching ... Shutter speed I cannot remember the aperture, but when I try to take a picture of the moon with my FZ20, even @ 2.8 aperture, I certainly do not have 1/100s shutter speed, but more like 1/10 or even less (P mode). I wonder if there is a problem with my camera ? How can I check that it is correct ? Can someone with experience of moon shot give me some "standard" shutter/aperture so I can compare ?

Rule of thumb I read was f11 and then 1/ISO for shutter speed. This means that if you're using ISO 100, you use 1/100. ISO 80, then 1/80. White balance set to SUN (because moon is reflecting sunlight).\015\012\015\012Wait! My camera doesn't do f11!!! ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 Digital Camera

The LCD Monitor of my Canon PowerShot A95 shows purple, white, and black horizontal lines instead of a clear image of what is in the Viewfinder. Pictures taken while showing up this way on the LCD Monitor turn out with the same fuzzy stripes. Light lines show up in the well-lit areas of the scene and dark lines show up where the scene is dark. The problem was intermittent for months but now cannot be corrected by powering off. I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I'm trying to shoot a photo of my sleeping 2 year old, so the light is obviously low. I have the cameral on manual mode. On the right side of the light meter, there is a blinking green light when I try to take the picture. What am I doing wrong? Have the Nikon D90 camera and it does not allow me to take pictures when ever I want. It is in full auto mode and just does not want to take the picture even in bright day light. The F keeps on blinking in full auto mode and even if I switch to manual mode it does not allow me to change settings. It is very frustrating! what is wrong with this D90??

The blinking F-- means that the camera doesn't think a lens is attached. You can try removing the lens and re-attaching it. Or if you have another lens, try that. There are quite a few reports of this issue with the 18-135 kit lens. ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-200mm lens

My pictures have a yellow cast to them and they are not very sharp. When I take pictures outside, my photos are invariably washed out. I find myself manually adjusting light balance before I print (either darkening if I take picture outside or lightening if I take the picture inside). I almost always use Auto mode. I have found nothing that corrects the nasty yellow cast.

Power/lens Problems I'm having some power/lens problems with my camera. When I turn on the power in either the picture or video mode, the green light will turn on for a split second then turn off. The lens does not come out at all. However, when I try to turn it on with the picture viewer or in the menu it works just fine.
