Having problems with your Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera ?

I have a EX-S600 Casio. When I turn it on the lens pops out, I get 3 audible beeps, hear some grinding and then the lens retracts and the camera shuts off, it all takes about about 6 to 7 seconds. I've removed the battery, SD card, cleaned the pop out lens and nothing seems to work. HELP!!!

Answers :

If you hear a grinding then it's toast. Any issue with the mechanism would cost more to have repaired than replaced. This usually happens as a result of the lens being bumped while open or opened in a bag. Or, a contaminate such as sand inside the body of the camera.

My Pentax Optio 430RS seems incapable of taking more than one photo before it freezes. Powering off retracts the lens, but then it comes out again immediately, but I'm unable to take a picture. I've had my camera for about 3 years now and have never had any problems until a couple of weeks ago. When I turned the camera on, it forced me to reset date/time and would occasionally show aperture 00 and not take a picture. Turning the camera off and then on again, or removing and replacing the battery temporarily took care of the problem. Now I am getting the ERR 01 and can not take pics at all, regardless of which lens I use or whether I am using the IS option. I've tried cleaning the c

I applied lens cleaning fluid directly to the lens of my camera, a Fuji F50FD digital compact, but it seems to have leaked into the lens housing. Any photos I now take appear with mutiple fine white streaks across them. Curiously, when I shoot in video mode the footage appears completely unaffected. Is this something that I can fix myself - is it just a question of taking the camera apart, then cleaning the inside with care? Or would the lens housing now to be replaced?

This is not something I would recommend you do without the proper knowledge or alignment tools. You would probably just end up with a brick instead of a camera. Sending it to a repair center would be very expensive. Possibly much more than the camera ... Fuji Finepix F50FD Digital Camera

Lens Error I purchased a Nikon P90 a month ago; and it was working just fine. A couple of days ago during a photo shoot (after taking 190+ photos without any trouble), the camera went crazy.. It shows a lens error when turned on; asks to 'remove the lens cap' even if it is already removed. The lens starts to zoom out & in for a couple of times; then this error message comes up and just hangs. Tried removing the card, battery and even tried re-charging the cell. I purchased it from UK, and I'm n

Low Battery When turning the camera on, the screen often says "Low Battery", even if the batteries are brand new. The problems seems to last a few hours, then it turns on as normal. I have tried cleaning the contacts and the battery tubes, but nothing obvious seems to cause it, or solve it. Sometimes, it cuts out to "Low Battery" in the middle of taking photos, when the charge indicator on the screen has just been at full. I have a Nikon Coolpix L14 and all of a sudden, when I turn it on, the lens moves in and out while making a strange noise until a "Lens Error" message comes on the screen. I tried replacing the batteries, turning it off and on, taking out the memory card, and cleaning the lens. The first time I replaced the batteries, it worked...until the next time I used it and the screen was completely blurred. Then, I had the original problem with the "Lens Error" message.
