I have Nikon D50 (11 months old) with two NIKON lenses - 18-55 (came with camera) and 70-300 (from my old Nikon F65). I have recently noted a spot appear in certain shots (mainly where sky is present) that is there in the same place whichever lens I use. Could this be a dust speck or similar on the CCD? If so, is there an easy way of cleaning the sensor? Regards Roland Zilz UK

Reset option and clean sensor option are not visible in set up menu. Canon D20 I had a two spots that kept appearing in the same area of the photo so I looked at the manual and did the clean sensor function a couple of times and the spots remain. One with 6-8 spots and my new one with one spot. Is there a sensor that one can clean. Does anyone else have this problem

My wife has a Canon 60D DSLR camera. When she looks through the view finder, it looks like the lens has a speck of dust on it as she can see it in the viewfinder. She has swapped lenses and the spec is still there. She used the auto clean function for the sensor, but the spec hasn't moved, This is almost a brand new camera. Should we clean the sensor by hand? If so, how do you do it?

Take a couple of pictures, over a dark background, if you can see the spec of dust on them, the problem might be in the mirror. Now, if the dust does not appear on the pictures, it's either on the viewfinder, or somewhere else out of the way of the s ... Canon EOS 60D Digital Camera

There's some dust spots in my pictures with my Nikon D80. I have sent it for sensor cleaning at Nikon centre but seems that the spots cannot be removed as the technician says it's hidden underneath/behind the sensor. I am not sure how true it is or the technician is just plain lazy because I had to tell him where the spots were 3 times before he got the remove most of them. The spots are not visible if I don't scrutinise the pictures though but it sure is irritating knowing there are 1 more spec

I think the problem is with the technician. I suggest you talk to the manager and ask for another technician to help you with this problem. I do not recommend trying to clean the sensor yourself as you may cause more harm than good. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Suddenly the pictures I take with my Lumix DMC-ZS3 have dark, shadowy, relatively circular spots on them. The spots are more noticeable when I zoom in. The spots are always in the same places on my images. This is my favorite camera of all time and I very distressed over this issue. Looking for tips to clean a very dusty Canon EOS 350D I've just boughtoff eBay. The view through the viewfinder is very dirty with a couple of black spots and some dust and small hairs etc. The pictures themselves are clear so the sensor is fine, it is the opaque plastic bit through which the mirror reflects which needs a clean. This is the part with the seven little squares where the focus LEDs light. Also one of those LEDs (the leftmost) is not working and the next nearest ones are dimmer
