Monitor unlit I'm using my colleges D40 for my digital photo class. The camera was set by a prior student. I'm trying to find on the camera where the "Auto- Off Timers" is. I'm thinking the camera was set so the monitor is always off avoiding extra use of the battery. It has to be something simple and getting used to moving around the camera program. Thanks

Blurry pictures I've had this camera for almost a year and everytime I want good pictures (vacation, birthdays, xmas) I'm disappointed with the quality of my pictures. So many of my pictures turn out blurry. And sometimes they'll look fine when reviewing on the camera, but when downloaded to my computer, the quality is poor. Some people say they keep their's on the auto setting, I find I need to keep mine on the nighttime setting to get decent pictures. Any sugggestions with settings, etc to hel

I'm not sure what is relevant and what isn't but... Two days ago I tried taking a picture on my timer and all of them came out blurry. I wasn't sure why this was so I started poking around on the camera and decided to reset all factory settings. Then that evening I tried to upload my pictures to my computer as usual. The software (Picasa) locked up. I tried taking the camera out of the cradle and turning it on but it wouldn't turn on. I rebooted my computer and tried turing the camera on

Sometimes a camera software upgrade will help, but it is hard to find software online. I first would look on manufacture's website to see if there is any driver updates you can download to your pc, then do the same with picasa software. Also make sur ... Digital Cameras

Lens problem Hi. I have an Olympus FE-190 digital camera. not sure what happened, but now there is a problem with the lens. when i turn on the camera, the lens extends, retracts, several times (trying to find "home" I think). Image on the display screen is blurry. it WILL take a very blurry picture. there is a faint 'ratcheting" sound when the lens is fully extended. is there a way to 're-set" or calibrate the lens extension setting or focus? thanks very much for your assistance.

FujiFilm S5500 When I turn on camera all my settings are gone, presumably defaulted to factory setting. I guess the camera's internal battery is flat or otherwise dead. can I replace same, what is it. I have all manner of soldering irons, and drivers etc to fit almost anything with a screw. I appreciate it could be a ticklish job, but have spent years as an elec engineer with Fisons Scientific, so shouldn't be a problem. regards, chris catton

Trouble Connecting I went to upload my pictures onto my MacBook and the camera won't connect. It had been working fine before and I hadn't changed anything. I tried taking out batteries and memory card, switching USB ports, and making sure the camera was set on USB and not the disk setting. What else can I try?I feel like I had this problem before and maybe it had something to do with Rosetta on Macs...could that be it? But I don't know how/where/what to do for that.Thank you,Tia

Message Display I have a 256MB memory card for my camera. I have not taken many photos. Even at the lowest picture quality setting of 640, the camera reads that I only have 146 images to take. When I try to review what is in the camera, I receive the message "No Valid Image to Play." The instruction manual explains that the message means. However, I was not able to find anything that tells what to do to increase the number of available photos from 146 to more. This problem happened once

I purchased the Moultrie D444 camera. I set it up according to instructions and did the "AIM' to see the range. Problem is, the camera does not detect anything smaller than a person. It will pick up a person, but not the birds or squirrels, etc. I took photos standing behind the camera of birds and squirrels. Took the card out of the Moultrie and the only thing on it was a photo of me taking the card out. What am I doing wrong?

My Canon A520 sometime, don't power on ONLY WITH OUT the memory card, so say, the camera function perfectly without the memory card, but, off coarse that model don't have an internal memory so, she is useless with out a memory card, I fix it (by now?!) taking off the internal battery and zeroing all sets, but I'm not sure if that my attitude (or his success) was entirely a matter of luck (episodic, sporadic, occasional etc...even superstitious!) Canon SD600 I used my camera to take pictures of fireworks and I noticed that afterwards, all the photos I was taking outside in daylight were turning white. If I take pictures in the dark, they turn out perfect, and low light pictures are fairly normal except anywhere where there is a light source (lamp, window, etc) the color is streaky and orange. This particular camera has no way to adjust the aperture settings and I am considering taking it to a shop to have it looked at. Is there anything

Kodak V1003 A few weeks ago, shortly after I'd taken a pic, the lens refused to retract and the camera switched off. It has never been dropped or had anything spilled on it. Strangely, when I press the button furthest left the camera comes on, allows me to view pictures on the card, set the time etc - everything except take pictures. Again when I try to switch off, the lens does not retract. Does this not suggest a software glitch of some kind?

The CF card in the wife's S9500 has ceased to be read via the USB cable in both Windows XP and Linux (both systems saw the camera before as an external drive). I cannot think of anything I have done to cause this. The card has integrity and we managed to get the 400+ photos off onto CD's via a PC in the local photo shop. I have re-formated the card and tried every setting I can find on the camera but..... no connection via USB seen.... can anyone help here please? Thanks - Peter

Since the card seems to be working (you can take pictures and view them on the screen afterwards) the problem must be with the USB. I assume Linux and XP is on 2 different computers? If, not, it could also an electrical error with the USB ports. ... Fuji FinePix S9500 Zoom Digital Camera
