Having problems with your Fuji FinePix S602 Zoom Digital Camera ?

I bought this camera second hand a few days ago. Unfortunately I did not know that the rechargeable batteries needed to be above 2000 mar and was using ones less than that. I also took it out on a very hot day. It suddenly stopped powering up at all. I have tried other batteries but still not working.

Have you tried the lithium energizers? I had the exact problem with my fuji (albeit a considerable inferior model to yours) I'd bought at the duty free before my flight to trinadad and i had normal pencil bats in it. It was fine for my three weeks on holiday but wen i got back it wouldn't switch on!? (figured it was jet lagged too) I then set about trying every battery under the sun! First the normal Nickel Cad AA bats: Duracell,EverReady Sony,Energizer,Panasonic and many more i'd never heard of. None of these would keep my camera on. Sent it back to the Fuji labs where they promptly returned it having been unable to find any problem with my camera. They suggested that i buy batteries with a MHA strength of at least 2000. I bought a rechargeable pack with bats of 2600,MHA and still the camera underperformed, lasting a maximum of one hour! My last desperate attempted had me shelling out £6.00 on a 4 pack of ENERGIZER LITHIUM batteries which i had avoided buying because i couldn't see how they were going to work after all the bats i'd been thru - and they worked!! I've had them in my camera for over three months and haven't needed to change to the other two yet even as i do use my camera frequently! Sorry abou the life story but DO try the ENERGIZER LITHIUMS!! MS
I have had that happen to a few s602s. This is what I learned:

If it simply won't power up at all, there is a chance the main circuit board fuse may have blown after it overheated from low voltage (this usually increases the current draw) and it's possible that replacing the fuse will fix it. However it's a pretty big job to replace, requiring a complete dismantle, so unless you are very handy with delicate parts, can recognize the fuse (it's about 2x2x4 mm surface mounted) and are very handy with a soldering gun, forget it.

If it comes on briefly but crashes, it's probably worse, the CMOS is likely corrupted and you may not be able to repair it at all even if you are very handy: in that case you would have to unsolder the CMOS battery from the main PCB (a major undertaking), and it is not guaranteed it will help. After one week unsoldered, the CMOS data should have reverted back to 0s, you once resolder ed and a fresh set of batteries inserted in the camera for another couple of weeks just to recharge the CMOS battery, it may restart normally, as this has worked for others, as for myself, I wasn't successful.

Bottom line, repairing this problem is definitely difficult, even for a tech minded person who has taken his s602s apart many times.

Won't work Have a C875 for a year now, and it has been working just fine. The other day I decided to try a AC adapter on it. Well, the AC adapter I used is one of those variable voltage ones. I set the voltage for 3 volts, plugged it in, it doesn't work. O.K. I put the batteries back in, still don't work. And, to top it off, the batteries get hot. Took the camera apart and I don't see anything burned up. Lost. Any help on what the solution could be and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh no maybe you used different adaptor some adaptor have reverse polarity. check the adaptor before plugging it..if you using variable voltage set to 3v then adjust also the polarity. the polarity should match the polarity of your camera. ... Kodak EasyShare C875 Digital Camera

Nikon Coolpix L18 camera LCD screen only shows jumpy lines of images. Took a test picture and viewed through a card reader to find that it is recording images, so the problem is just in the screen. I recently purchased the D80 and had no problems, it worked great and took magnificant shots. However, the other day I turned it on and the viewfinder was now, dark and out of focus. Of note, it still takes clear, sharp, in-focus shots, it's just that the view in the viewfinde

Just had my Canon Powershot s1 is flash explode in my face at a meeting with over 30 people attending. I took a picture, the flash went up and suddenly it popped so loud that people ducked. There was also a fire/smoke smell coming from the flash area. Very scary. Those witnessing said they would back me up if suit filed. Checked the batteries and they work fine. Intermittently, I get a scene in the viewfinder which is just a mass of streaks of various colors. I tried snapping the photo anyway, and that's also what came out as the image. Zoom Error Hi all, New to site and hope you can help me! I have a Fuji S3000 that has worked very well for last couple of years and all of sudden has packed up, coming up with "zoom error" when you turn it on. I have done the obvious (change the batteries) but to no avail. Any ideas. I have recently been to the North Pole with this camera and it worked perfectly well at -40 degrees (after warming the batteries!) and has only worked for a day since returning!
