Having problems with your Fuji FinePix S7000 Digital Camera ?

The lens makes 'graunching' noises at start-up,+ is not focusing

\015 As the camera starts up after being switched on---second position on the dial, the 'shoot' position,-- very strange noises come from the it. I think its the cogs/ratchet/gearing mechanism in the lens playing up or broken,so probably not a diy possible repair proposition? ... the camera is now over 4 years old, has served me very well, and I would dearly love to keep it going for a few more decades.....BUT I could now get a new version, which would capture 'bigger' images,etc.etc., for 25% of the amount I paid for this Finepix S7000 !!!!!-- I do find that so very frustrating!..never mind... if anyone has experience and/or of course a solution for this issue I would really appreciate it..!!.. I do hate this 'throwaway' world...!!!!\015

It is normal for gear noises to happen as there is alot of mecanical parts involved ,the lens is zooming to wide angle and focusing to a normal position to ready its self for shooting as long as the lens is working after this start-up mode correctly i.e focus and zooming there will not be any problems
Is it possible to unscrew the lens to check out what it is that is grinding myself? Nothing to lose at this point I purchased a new camera

Is there any way I can get my camera back to normal! I turned it on and it said "focus error". When I shut it off to see if it would start over correctly it would not close the lens. I turned it on and the lens closed and then opened again and wouldn't focus. I turned it off and the lens won't shut. How weird is that? It obviously is capable of opening and closing but seems to be reversed and makes a funny noise when it can't shut at the right time. Can I wiggle or giggle something? I bo

My camera is in great condition and I'd hate to spend the money to get it fixed. It seems like everything else is working except for the lens...which is a big one! It never reads "ERROR" its just that the lens will not focus. It makes a noise when it is turned on like it is trying to focus. Even when I slightly hold the shutter button it makes a strange noise trying to focus but cannot. Any ideas of what I could do? I have a D5000 camera w/ kit lens VR 55-200, less than a year old. Recently and only occasionally what is happening is when I press the shutter release button, the lens won't focus, it won't move in or out and it makes a odd noise, not the usual lens motor noise, but an odd squeaking noise, like it's trying to move but is stuck. The only way to correct it is to either shut the camera off and turn it back on again, or switch to manual focus, then back to auto. The battery is full, so it's not

I was using my Nikon D40 at son's baseball game with the 55-200 mm lens & was too close to the fence when zooming since it tapped the fence. Now it makes a squeaky noise when trying to auto focus.
