Having problems with your Fuji FinePix S7000 Digital Camera ?

Battery Drain I have a constant 70ma drain from thebatteries when turned off. I insert the plug into the external 5vdc to disconect the batteries from the camera and this splves the problem. I now find that the time and date have to be entered or just press OK for the camera to operate. Is there a second internal battery for the clock alone. Thank you Richard

\015\012I suggest using XD cards. Depending on the age of your camera there may be a factory fix available to improve this issue, you'll have to contact the Fuji repair center.
\015\012
\015\012The manual states there is some small constant drain by design but 70mA seems high. There is no internal battery to retain the date, but with 2+ hours of the batteries inserted (or power supply attached) it is supposed to retain data/time for up to 24 hours (internal capacitance holds it). If you have a CF draining that will probably use all of the stored energy up though causing the date/time to be lost. Try it with the CF pulled out if that is the memory you are using.
\015\012
\015\012Plugging in the adapter will cause a power-interrupt according to the manual. Be sure the camera is off when plugging or removign the supply.
\015\012
\015\012FWIW I have switched to Duracell pre-charged NiMH hybrid cells in my S7000 and the "shelf-life" is much better than typical NiMH, took hundreds of test shots and views over a period of a week and there was still plenty of life in the cells. (They are rebranded Sanyo "enerloop" cells, google them up for more info).

But now every time I turn on the power button, I have to set the time an date and press "SET" for OK. I read somewhere on the internet that others have encountered this problem as well. Every time I turn on my Canon A540 Powershot I get the black date/time screen. The date/time is all zero (the photo properties default to 1 Jan 1980) and I have to either enter the date/time or press Func/Set to clear the screen. Whichever option I take.. the same thing happens every time. Is there a way to make the date/time "stick"? I first noticed the problem when one set of batteries was low.. but new batteries didn't solve it. Any ideas? Camera doesn't have a lot of miles..

Drained Batteries I am having a battery problem with my A75, which is my first digital camera. The camera has gone through 2 sets of brand new alkaline batteries since I've had it.
