Having problems with your Fuji FinePix S9000 Zoom Digital Camera ?

Possible solutions are:
\015\012card or battery door tabs for cut out switches are broken or the micro switches are damaged.
\015\012Blown fuses on the board. There are several fuses on the main board and power board and to determine which one has blown you can connect an ac adapter to see if your camera will power up via mains. If it does then the fuse for the battery has blown. If neither will power up your camera then the main board fuse will have blown. To check the fuses you will need a service manual, not an owners manual, for the locations and correct types of fuses.
Ya, my s9000 fuji had no startup by the switch
\012or with the ac adapter plugged in too.
\012I got the service manual and took my camera apart and replaced the motherboard battery. that worked!!
\012The service manual schematics show some
\012so called 'fuses' on one of the 2
\012boards in this camera.
\012its of course on the board thats buried the deepest
\012and underneath everything...
\012but i never took it down that far to get to them. I think they are \012hardboarded anyway from what I could tell by peeking in when I got that \012far.
\012But you can easily see the coin battery on the first mb you tear down to.
\012I decided to just do the battery and see what happens.
\012Technically a battery acts like a fuse too...
\012maybe its all just jargon about 'the fuses'.
\012I did take that first mb out all the way, and its alittle bit of a \012surgery to accomplish this because of some extremely small plugs and \012wires. The ribbon cables are not too bad, but you could damage them if \012your not really careful. unclip them by folding up their holder flap.
\012It doesnt look like they do, but thats what it does.
\012Dont just rip them out.
\012But actually 2 ribbons before you get to these you do just pull out.
\012The battery was spot welded into the holder too. Looked like the \012Predator's shoulder cannon did it with his laser triangle sight. lol
\012Both sides even.. Its a very good example of a pre assembly factory method.
\012I used an xacto blade to pop the welds from the battery.
\012I fiqured out why this was like this too.
\012The battery needs to stay very secure for camera wrangling. :)
\012After the battery is popped out the holder, its not ever going to let
\012a new battery stay put. The holder is not designed for that.
\012So you need to solder the top (-) of the holder to the battery.
\012Theres just enough grab to get this done.
\012Tin the top of the holder first with solder near its edge.
\012I scratched up the surface a bit with my exacto so I could tin it.
\012Then slid the battery in, and soldered the edge to the battery.
\012Its not going to fall out now!
\012For everybody who loves their Fuji camera too I would like to tell you the \012camera battery # is 321..its a silver oxide Maxwell battery...it was \012alot of work to find this out because the original had no info.
\012it wasnt a Maxwell for sure...I had to fiqure out the circuitry voltage to make sure I was going to put the right battery in.
\012it's size > 6.8mm dia x 1.6m height
\0121.55 volt 15 mAh
\012I got mine at batteryBob.com.
Actually he sent me 5 free ones too. cool deal there!
I hope this helps someone down the line, because I sure have appreciated\012 other things folks have posted on all kinds of other searches I have \012had to do
\012and have gotten help.
\012As for taking the Fuji S9000 camera apart and doing this I would only \012recommend it if you are patient and have some nimble mechanical fingers.
\012I would rate the difficulty an 8 out of 10, which means better have the \012right tools and definitely a white table that wont lose screws if they go \012bouncing.
\012The service manual pics were great. email me at scg at sti dot net if \012you need more help or info. I was soooo glad my camera friend Mr Fuji \012came back to life after this. I hope everyone else can keep up running \012too.
\012keep those pics snappin' !!
