Having problems with your Fuji Finepix S9600 Digital Camera ?

My S9600 was left unused [batteries left in camera] for several months. Now it will work fine with the mains adaptor, but is completely dead when on battery power. Have tried new batteries [rechargeable and 'ordinary'] - camera dead; have left on mains power for a few minutes, then switched to batteries, same result. Grateful for any suggestions...

Sounds like corrosion on the battery contacts. I have seen battery contacts with a thin, transparent coating that came from leaking rechargeable batteries- doesn't look like the usual green crud, but it stops electricity from getting through. Try giving the contacts a scrape- you will need a long thin screwdriver or something of the sort.

My Sigma SD9 rapidly drains battery power; and I don't mean over a short period of time, but over a few minutes. Regardless of new or fresh rechargeable batteries, the drainage is frustratingly consistent. Have had the camera quit responding regardless of 3 sets of AA rechargeables, or non-rechargeables with more than 3/4 capacity left installed within 45 minutes of my last attempt to use this camera at a Botanical garden close to where I live. Other than junk it is there a way to solve this

I even went and bought brand new DBL A batteries to see if camera would boot, and it don't. I tested both boughten batteries and rechargable batteries with a tester, both type of batteries have plenty of power.

Hi , My Fuji S9600 has just refused to power-up using batteries, although it still powers-up and operates correctly when i attach the mains PSU adapter. I wonder if this is a common occurrence on this model and how easy it is to get sorted. I have used rechargeable batteries since the camera was new (approx 3 yrs) and have tested the batteries as V.good. So i'm assuming that the problem is with the camera somewhere. Do you think if i reset the camera in the menu that would cure the problem , or

Batteries This camera has been the worst digital camera I have ever used.  The pic quality is fine.  The ease of use is fine.  The problem lies in the battery longevity.  Maybe that is not even the right description.  I will put in new batteries and only use my camera for a short time.  The next time I go to use the camera it is not at all uncommon for it to not turn on.  Even though it has new batteries and was not left on, the batteries are dead.  It happens with the rechargeable as well as re

I have a Kodak Z7590, the power ring flashes amber when I power it on. Thinking that the battery is dead, (and it was recharged) I bought a new battery, charged it, and it does the same thing. What can I do, or is the camera dead? As a precaution I cleaned the battery/camera contacts with a dry swab.

Battery life When I first had this camera, about 3 years ago, the rechargeable batteries I bought seemed to last for ages. But more recently the "low battery warning" has been coming on very shortly after inserting freshly charged batteries. I have tried using ordinary batteries (high powered) but even with these I can only take a few pictures before the warning light comes on. Once the light is on, the camera goes dead after a few more pictures so it's not giving me a false "low battery" warnin

Fairly brand new (less than 6 months old) Canon rebel xti - shooting in manual mode, then it gives a low battery message. I switch the battery and nothing. Lens error I keep this Elph in a tiny, padded Halliburton case because the last TWO I bought ended up with broken screens. I never had a problem, though lightly used. Last night I recharged the battery and inserted it. Immediately upon power-up, the lens went out and I got a "Lens error, restart camera" error. I turned it on and off about twenty times, left the battery out overnight: same thing. I jiggled the lens with the same result. Canon tech support told me to take the battery out a

My Fuji A700 simply eats up batteries,it has got to a point where I am only able to download 20 pictures with a BRAND NEW SET OF BATTERIES. It was as consumptive with rechargeable versions. I understand this is a common problem that makes the camera unuseable, obviously it is simply not up to the job, they are not exactly eco friendly at that rate of power consumption and subsequent disposal of the dead batteries.
