Answers :

The DC-M40 will take up to a 512mb CF card. You may have to format the card. Do this from the camera's menu. If that doesn't help, the card may be defective.

I have a Nikon E5400, ver 1.3. I bought a 4GB Kingston CF card; the package said "formatted and ready to use". On inserting into camera, the message flashed that the card is not formatted. So I proceeded to format. The next message that flashes is "Out of Memory". Questions: 1) is the CF card defective? 2) is E5400 incapable of reading a 4GB CF card, should we use only CF cards <1GB? 3) Will a firmware version upgrade to v1.4 help? 4) Any other reason why this could happen?

Close-up picture Hi! I purchased my camera to take up close-up pictures of handmade greeting cards. The cards are 4" x 5 1/2" with lots of little details. I'd like to show as much detail as possble. I'm not sure what the best setting are? I've tried using the flash, but the whole picture just glares out, the light bounces off of the card and makes a big glare in the center. Without the flash, the picture is too dark. Can you help me figure out the best setting to use? Or, what kind of lighting

"For" Message I was infrequently getting a "for" message, which stopped me from taking pics. I bought a new card and all was well for a while. However, it started again. Hi, the flash card card-eject lever spring is broken and wont eject the card. u have to manually push the card in place and pull the card out. the lever stays up until u shut the card slot door.once the card is in place the camera can read the card if images already exist. but...it will not record an image and shows up as blank on the screen after the shutter takes the image? is this the cause of the broken eject lever. thanks.

I have the same problemI think that the reason that the not record the image is that the card slot door is pushing down on the card eject lever and ejecting the card when the door is closedThe only answer I can think of is to shorten the leverdavidh ...
