\015\012HP put out an update which can be downloaded from their site, to correct this problem. They state it's a software problem in the camera itself.
You might try powering the camera off, then restart it to see if that might help. With camera off press and hold the on switch until the logo appears, then immediately release it. Reopen the camera and follow the inquiry's which will come up on the screen.
Watch the lower left hand of the screen and see if an error message pops up momentarily, The format would be "Error 108."
You can also e-mail HP tech support and they will try to help you at no cost.
Good luck...Sitsika

Lens error When I first power on my camera, it tells me to retry power on. When I do, it says lens error and shuts down. The lens will extend and then close before the power shuts off, however it does not close fully. The protective shutter on the lens doesn't close completely. I have tried removing the battery and letting the camera sit for awhile hoping that the camera will reset, however this has been of no help.

When switched on the camera tries to open the lens. It is clearly being obstructed in some way, and after three attempts closes down with the message "Please turn camera off and on again". If tapped gently sometimes the lens will open, and if the lens is caught and encouraged to stay out then ooccasionally the camera opens as normal. If the lens does stay open the camera appears to function as normal.

I have a Kodak M1063 that has never been dropped or abused. I have had it for a couple of years and it has worked flawless.
