My 2 year old son dropped the my husband's Canon G11 twice while it was open with the lens out. Now the lens won't retract or the shutter close. It gives me a 'lens error, restart camera' message and won't restart. I tried taking out the battery for a few minutes and replacing it and reopening the camera, but to no avail. I'm afraid of taking it to someone and having it opened as I know that the chances of damaging it that way are bigger. Please provide me with your soonest reply. Rania

Am in Italy and my Lumix DMC ZS6 camera was dropped on a stone floor. The LCD is was cracked but the lens tracted and retracted and it took pictures. Two weeks later however, whenI wanted to use the camera, it did not turn on and the lens did not open. Is this simply a matter of replacing the LCD or could it be a bigger problem with the electronics. Would it be better just to buy another camera? Thanks!

Hello, I own a Fugi Finepix F100 camera. Last week my dog was pulling on his leash trying to get to a gaggle of ducks and caused me to drop my camera down into snow. I tried to dry it off and in doing so might have damaged the retractable lens cover. Now it is not reliable in opening all the way, I usually need to help slide it back so that the lens is fully exposed. I really don't want to have an expensive repair unless necessary...what do you advise? Thank you! Linda

I accidentally dropped my camera with the lens open and it bent so now the camera cannot close, it just shuts off. My memory card is the issue though. The camera has not been used for some time. First up it would not open at all. Then following clues in support response t4613896 fix 1,2 and 4 I got the lens out, grabbed it before it retracted and rotated it a little. Finally got the lens opening, and retracting, nearly normal. Now when it opens there is a click at the end of its travel, and ditto when it closes, which sounds louder than usual. Sometimes it does not fully retract so I gently push it home - when I next open, the lens completes t
