How do I get the flash to only fire once? Even if I turn red eye reduction OFF the flash always fires twice, leaving me with pictures of my 8 month old baby with her eyes closed :(

Answers :

Sounds strange.
\015\012There is a function within SCN which is specificly set for photografing children. Try this one.
\015\012Other than that try and experiement with different flash types in order to find the correct setting for the flash. You can find the Flash settings: The same place as you chose red eye and switches the flash off/on.

Lost pictures I have lost all of my pictures and videos off of my camera. I have a 6 month old son and I have just lost all of his baby pictures! I cannot find the manual and desperately need help. Everything on the camera seems to be functioning correctly but I have not taken any more pictures to test it. Anyone have any ideas about how I can retrieve them? I know I should have backed them up. :(

I have loved this camera but everytime I take a flash picture it causes the subjects to close their eyes. I've never had this problem with other cameras. Is the flash not timed properly or is it too bright? Can you help?

I have a Nikon D80 camera that is about 1 year old. I has worked fine until about 6 months ago. Sometimes when I turn it on and press the button to take the picture nothing happens. I have to wait awhile and keep playing with the button and then it will finally take the picture and act normal. This happens inside and out. Sometimes the flash will pop up outside in direct sunlight. Do I have some settings wrong or why is it acting like this?

Are you getting a Err message? If so The ERR message is not a good thing. Read page 132 of the D80 Manual. Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

All indoor pictures look grainy or blurry. There are a lot of noise in my photos, and it really seems to have difficulty capturing moving people as the intelligent auto often chooses the night portrait scene for indoor people shots. In the manual it recommends using a tripod and having the subject stand still. I am trying to photograph active toddlers (18 months and 3 years old). I have found switching to sports helps sometimes. My 6 month-old Nikon D90 has been acting-up for quite some time. I take ALL my pictures at LARGE size, as they may end up in competitions or exhibition. However, without warning, the size changes occasionally to SMALL or MEDIUM, often twice, or more, in the one day. I only discover this when I notice the number of frames left has doubled or more. I had the same problem with my previous camera, a D70, which I eventually gave away to a friend.

Close-up picture Hi! I purchased my camera to take up close-up pictures of handmade greeting cards. The cards are 4" x 5 1/2" with lots of little details. I'd like to show as much detail as possble. I'm not sure what the best setting are? I've tried using the flash, but the whole picture just glares out, the light bounces off of the card and makes a big glare in the center. Without the flash, the picture is too dark. Can you help me figure out the best setting to use? Or, what kind of lighting

Canon 1400 IS: When I take a picture using flash of a close up object, a shadow is cast on the lower right corner of the picture. For pictures that are not taken close up with flash, or taken from further away and just zoomed in to the object, does not have this issue. Do you know what could be causing this shadow issue?

It's most likely the shadow of the lens. The flash is above and to the left of the lens, so the shadow of the lens will be to the right and below. ... Digital Cameras

Camera flash i generally use my camera on auto mode so i don't have to play around with buttons! however after loaning my camera to my sister for a week my flash is no longer as great as it was!! I used to take pics and the flash would light 2-3 times giving a great, bright picture. It now flashes once before the pic is snapped giving a dark picture. If i push the flash button on the left side of the scrolling circle it goes from red eye flash (which flashes once) to no flash! I'm almost certain

Within the last few days, suddenly when I take a picture a picture there is a little red eye that is flashing on the left hand of the screen and the little green light at the top is flashing also and there is hesitation of about 15 seconds before a picture is taken and then the picture will have a redish tint to it when it processes.
