I can only take a few pictures on my camera before it either shuts itself off and/or won't turn on again. When I try to turn it on the red light flashes but the lens doesn't extend, and then the light goes out. It's like the batteries are dead. I've tried brand new ones, rechargeable ones, etc. It's not under warranty anymore so I'm not really sure what my options are.

Shuts off My camera shuts off in the middle of taking pictures. There are no low battery warning lights, new batteries (and even replaced those with new ones) but the problem is still the same. Does anyone know what the remedy might be. I love this camera and wish it would work like it like it once did. thanks.

Hi! I took several shots yesterday and went to upload the pix on my computer today and when I connected the camera to my computer the battery was at 100%. Then the camera completely shut off. I tried turning it back on with no result. I recharged the battery with the same result. I figured my battery must be dead ( yet only 1 year old) and purchased a new one. I fully charged that one and plugged my camera in again and the same thing happened! What could this be caused from? No damage has ever

Will a 1500 mAh battery work in a Kodak DX 7590? The original battery was a 1700 mAh. Everything else is the same as the original battery. I thought the original battery was going dead and wouldn't re-charge, so I bought a new battery. The camera acts like it wants to turn on, but doesn't. The power comes on briefly, but camera lens doesn't open. The ring around the settings dial flashes green., then turns to red, and shuts off. Please help!!!! I love this camera!!!
The answer is YES, the Kodak DX 7590 can be supported by a Li-Ion 1700 mAh battery. The only difference is that the 1700 last longer. Just make sure the one you just purchased is fully charged. Otherwise, exchange that battery from the store you b ... Kodak EasyShare DX7590 Digital Camera
Battery failure I charge my Pentax Optio S5z battery on the charger then put it in the camera when it is fully charged (green light comes on on the charger) but the camera won't work ie. battery is dead, as i put it back in the charger and the light comes up red like it is flat again. Sometimes I just leave it in the camera and it seems to work after a few days, then may last for a day or sometimes for ages. I'm guessing the battery is stuffed but I want to check before I buy a new one. Please
The only solution for that is to buy a new battery. I had the same problem with my canon 900Ti (NB5 battery), died after less than a year. It probably exceeded it's battery cycle life... have a nice day! ... Pentax Optio S5z Digital Camera
Batteries "depleted" my camera was working perfect with some rechargeable NiMh batteries i had bought, giving me about 400 shots / charge. However at one point, for no apparent reason, when i used them, they would be shown as 'depleted' by the camera after about 4-5 shots, shutting the camera down. It stayed like this so I decided to buy a set of new NiMh batteries, i bought panasonic brand. But the problem remains now, whenever i insert batteries, they will be depleted (or at least according to

After a while, a strange smell came from camera batteries area, and I could feel warm there too. Immediately I took out all the batteries from camera. After leaving my Sony DSC-T2 camera unused for only a couple of days the battery was flat. I recharged it fully but again it only lasted a day or two. I assumed the battery was dead and I purchased a new Sony NP-BD1 battery and charged it correctly. This new battery is behaving exactly the same as the old one, only holding a charge for a day or two at most. It seems the camera is draining the battery when it is switched off, or maybe the charger is faulty ??? Any ideas?? many thanks - Geoff

Last year I bought my mom a digital camera for christmas. It worked great for about 2-3 months. Battery issue Hi, I've owned this camera for about 1 year. In the last couple of months the red battery icon will flash and the camera will shut down thinking it has dead batteries. If that isn't the problem then I have no idea what is wrong with thing......my last camera did the same thing (Fugi)

Camera dying? It will powerup like normal. But when a CF card (tried different ones)is in the camera and you press the button to take a photo, the screen will either shut off clean or give a flash of scrambled image then shut off and freeze.
