I have a Pentax K 100 D. I have tried using a Flash Memory card (a Sandisk Ultra 16GB) but without success. The message 'Memory Card Error" is displayed even before I could format it. The card had previously been used to store files from my PC (where it worked perfectly) but the camera could not format it even after I had removed all the files etc by reformatting it in the PC (FAT32). Is there any way I can get to use this flash card in my camera?

I have replaced it with another memory card but the same message keeps coming up so I cannot take any photos. The message says: "This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another card." Any suggestions how I can reset the camera before I pay to put it in for a service?

My 4 GB memory card seems to have gone bad. I've used it for months and always fine. When using it last night it just went out. If I have it in my camera my camera will not work. If I take it out the camera will come on. I tried putting it directly in the printer slot and it tells me Memory Card Error. Is there ANY WAY to retrieve my pics off of this card??? When turning on the camera, the card reader light flashes sometimes for a full minute before you can take a picture, I am using a Olympus xD 2GB memory card which works fine after the card reader light quits flashing. Pictures missing some (not all) of pictures taken end up missing from the camera ; they can't be viewed on the camera or loaded into my pc. I know the pics were there but missing later. this has happened with two separate memory cards so I know it's not a card problem. I've had the camersa a few years and this is the first problem. One of the memory cards intermittantly comes up with a "memory card error" message but not the card that was exclusively in use when the problem first showed itself.

Shutter Lag All, I have an Olympus 5050 Digital Camera that I have been using for a while now for home use and I am quite happy with the results. The only complaint I have is with the capture speed of the camera. The shutter lag seems to be about between 3-5 seconds which becomes quite obvious while taking pictures of moving objects (moving kids). I don't know if the issue is with the shutter speed of the camera or with the slower memory cards. I am using the SimpleTecg 256 MB Compact Flash card

Card speed won't interfere with shutter lag.\015\012\015\012The lag is much less (near non-existent) if you pre-focus. Or use manual focus with small enough aperture to get lots of depth of field. Make sure your kids are in the focus zone and just sn ... Olympus Camedia C-5050 Zoom Digital Camera

I have a Nikon E5400, ver 1.3. I bought a 4GB Kingston CF card; the package said "formatted and ready to use". On inserting into camera, the message flashed that the card is not formatted. So I proceeded to format. The next message that flashes is "Out of Memory". Questions: 1) is the CF card defective? 2) is E5400 incapable of reading a 4GB CF card, should we use only CF cards <1GB? 3) Will a firmware version upgrade to v1.4 help? 4) Any other reason why this could happen?
