If i push the flash button on the left side of the scrolling circle it goes from red eye flash (which flashes once) to no flash! I'm almost certain

I was using my M763 model and taking pictures just fine. Then, I went to take a pic and the LCD was dark. I clicked the review button, nothing happened, so I turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on. When I try to turn it on it flashes green for a nano sec, then red a couple of times, then nothing. When I plug the USB cable into the camera and my computer USB port nothing happens, but earlier I was able to upload pics okay. So what's up?

I have a Canon Digital EOS Rebel XT and the built-in flash no longer pops up when needed. This started happening after using a Canon speedlite, but then removing it. I've tried resetting everything, and tried all modes expecting that the ones listed in the manual as using a flash would work, but they dont, it never pops up. "For" Message I was infrequently getting a "for" message, which stopped me from taking pics. I bought a new card and all was well for a while. However, it started again. I removed and reinserted the card and this seemed to work. Now, the "for" message is constantly there. The green light flashes on for a moment when I insert the card, then goes off. If I turn the camera on, the "for" message flashes on and off.
