Memory card errors. I turn it on and get message MEMORY CARD ERROR PLEASE CHECK CARD. Occurs on different cards. Sometimes I can clean the contacts on the card and it will work. Sometimes, I can take pictures but if I remove the card it cannot be read if install it back or by a computer or printer. I use the camera as publicity in trade shows taking then printing pictures, so the cards are removed and inserted constantly. I have reformatted the card in the camera, still fails.

I have copied the photographs from the 4 Gb memory card to the computer (170 picture) but now when I insert the memory card back into the camera I receive the message "No valid picture to play" and can only take a photo to built-in memory. Memory Card I just got my new Canon Power Shot G9. The user guide pictures a different memory card then what came with the camera. The guide shows a memory card that has ribbing and a write protection tab. The memory card that came with the camera does not. It is smooth all around except for one squared off corner.
