Having problems with your Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D / Dynax 7D Digital Camera ?

Lens adaptor I purchased a Phoenix 1300mm lens for my minolta cameras, maxxum 7d digital and analogue. The lens adaptor that was supplied with the lens has no cantacts and when attached to the body and the shutter release pressed, the camera indicates that there is no lens attached. The company that I purchased the lens from in Queensland Australia, and Phoenix themselves no longer seem to be in business so Ihave no results from them. The Phoenix lens is a screw mount looks like early Pentax but

Answers :

The good news is that it is possible to get the camera to operate with the lens & adapter :-)

The bad news is that you'll only be able to use it in manual mode :-(

To get the camera(s) to actually fire, you will need to change some settings.

For the Maxxum 7:

Go to Custom settings (No.16) and change to 'Lock Off'.

For Maxxum 7D

Go to the settings menu (purple cog icon) and then to sub-menu 3. Change Shutter lock to Off.

With the camera set to Manual mode, you can still use the built-in meter. Half-press the shutter button and you will see a metering scale appear in the viewfinder. This will indicate whether the shutter/aperture setting you've selected will over/under-expose the image. Adjust your settings until the indicator bar is over the zero.

Hope this helps,

Matt.

PS. Even if you could somehow modify the adapter, the lens won't have the necessary electrical and mechanical coupling for the cameras to control it in an automatic mode.

I just purchased (about one month ago)a Canon 50 D with 28-135 is. Yesterday I recieved a Canon 2.8 IS L 70 -200mm. When I mount the camera to the lens ( the 70-200) I notice a little wiggle in the mount attachment. I went back and checked to see if my other canon and Sigma lenses do this on the 50 d and they do. I just seems more noticeable with the larger lens. Is this normal?

The larger lens is longer and the wiggle is the same amount of play but closer to the end of the lens it moves more due to it being longer/larger. Just insure there is no substantial movement at the actual connection or lens and body. It should lock ... Canon EOS 50D Digital Camera with 28-135mm lens

Hello I just purchased a .42 wide angle fisheye lens for my panasonic lumix dmc-fz8 and when i bought it on ebay it said its for either a fz7/8. When i tried to attach it today the lens adapter does not fit the thread. I was wondering if maybe the lens on the camera should be taken off? I'm not sure. And it is possible to just use the fisheye lens without the adapter? Because it fits when just put the fisheye lens but when i turn it on it says "please remove lens cap then press play" so I'm very

Wobbly lens I have just purchased a Sony W130. It is my first ever camera. When the camera is off the lens section can be moved about 1/2mm with gentle movement of the camera. When zoom is fully extended it can be moved side to side by gentle pushing about 1 1/2mm. Is this normal or is the camera faulty? It doesn't seem to be affecting the pictures but everytime I use it I get a vibration warning on the screen.

I just purchased the Zeikos fisheye lense for my 50mm Nikkor lens and when I attach it, it doesn' take fisheye photos - just regular with some distortion around the edges... am I using this incorrectly? I'm fairly new so not sure.

The 50 mm lens is a full frame lens, and the D80 is a DX camera. This means that the 50mm lens puts an image out that is bigger than what the D80 can "see". The good part of this is that the D80 (and most of the other Nikon DSLR's) use only the ima ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens
