Nikon FM: Shutter release button will not allow me to take another photo and I'm only on frame 15 of a roll of 24. The film advance lever does not move the film, but it does open all the way to the right & shows the lights on inside (so the battery is OK). I changed the battery just in case, but that didn't solve the problem. I'm wondering if the film somehow came undone inside.

The FM is a mechanical camera, the batteries only power the metering system. Sometimes what happens is when you buy film say in 4 roll packages, they give you 3 24 exps and a 12 exp. I suggest that you rewind the roll and check this. You will only ... Nikon Digital Cameras

I have a D80 since 2 years and since last 1 week have been getting the 'Err' message. Initially, after referring to the manual & pressing the shutter release button, the camera responded only ONCE. i.e. the 'Err' message disappeared and the pics were SEEN on the screen (which means the shutter was working). Now, even that has stopped. I'm not able to click any pictures (although the mirror moves) and certain specific menus & other buttons on the body dont work. Now on pressing the shutter re

I have a D5000 camera w/ kit lens VR 55-200, less than a year old. Recently and only occasionally what is happening is when I press the shutter release button, the lens won't focus, it won't move in or out and it makes a odd noise, not the usual lens motor noise, but an odd squeaking noise, like it's trying to move but is stuck. The only way to correct it is to either shut the camera off and turn it back on again, or switch to manual focus, then back to auto. The battery is full, so it's not

Camera shuts down after shutter button is pressed. It shuts down halfway through the shutter operation. Everything else works fine-reviewing pictures, settings in menu, focusing, exposure settings etc. The camera focuses ok when the shutter button is half pressed then when you press the shutter button fully, the mirror goes up, shutter appears to open then the camera shuts down with no power. Only way to get mirror etc back to normal is to remove the battery and refit. When camera is turned b

Overexposed photos?? when i hit my shutter release button, sometimes the flash doesn't pop up and the view finder goes black. (it's like the camera is taking a picture but when I release my finger from the shutter release button it doesn't release) The only way to "get out of it" is to turn the camera off then back on. when i go to playback...it is a white picture. are my settings messed up and how do i avoid this in the future. Many picture moments are missed because of this!

The view finder "going black" on an SLR is caused by the mirror being up, which is also when the camera is actually taking the picture! The mirror sends the light from the lens to either the viewfinder or the sensor. When it's down, the light goes ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

I bought a second hand d70s. it seems to have a problem. the shutter release button does not seem to do anything when pressed half way (like auto focus). I can only get autofocus to work if i program AE-L/AF-L button to AF-ON. I press the AE-L/AF-L button on the back, then press the shutter to take the shot. And if i set the AE Lock On, pressing the shutter button half way does not lock the exposure setting. so there seems to be an issue with the shutter button itself...is there an easy fi

Shutter too slow and pics of people blurry. I have the camera on auto setting, push button half way down, focus, then all the way, take the pic. If the subject is moving AT ALL, the pic comes out blurry. There are other settings, but the one I want is the one that will take pics of my kids and not be blurry.

Everything seems to function well, actually, I've never used this camera. Got if off of ebay, so maybe I was gypped. Anyways, the film advance lever seems to be stuck. It only goes half way. I can put film in, and take it out. I haven't gotten batteries for it yet. If it helps, the frame count is on 's'. So, my only problem is the film advance lever. Is it broken....?!?????!??!

Canon Squeal I recently bought a Canon A1 35mm film camera off eBay. The outside is in amazing condition but the seller did not use the camera for a very long time so it had not been lubricated. I put a new battery in it and pressed the shutter release button and heard a squeal and the shutter was staying open way too long. I'm not experienced enough to trust lubricating it myself and wanted to know if you did this in your store and if you could give me an estimate on how much it would cost. I'm

This is common on the A series Canon cameras. It's a flywheel governor on the side of the mirror box that needs to be lubricated. We do that for $48. Let us know if we can help.\015\012\015\012Crystal Camera Repair\015\012Ashevil ... Digital Cameras

Shutter button on my digital rebel xt stopped working. I can press down far enough (halfway) to get it to focus but then it won't click all the way down and release. Coolpix L5 was functioning perfectly until today. Now it boots normally, focuses normally when the shutter button is partially pressed, but does nothing when the button is pushed all the way down. It will not shoot stills or video or even self-time a still shot. It behaves exactly as if the actual shutter release button is broken and doesn't make contact at the full pressed position. New batteries, memory card, resetting default menu settings--none of these help. It's running firmware 1.0.
