I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.
This is quite a well known problem called 'back focusing' there is little that can really be done about it, except if the camera is under warrnty you can send it in and they will do some laser alignment that fixes the problem, it would be worth a cal ... Canon Digital Cameras

My D70 (which I just bought on ebay) is having problems with AF. At time the AF works fine but then for no reason it refuses to work for hours to days. I have two bodies so I can swap lenses to see that its not the lens. If I switch to manual focus, it the camera works fine. I can see the little pins around the lens fitting retract when I switch the camera to manual. Seems like a problem with the internals that control AF. No other problems are apparent to me. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a contact issue - either they are not making consistently or they are just dirty. I'd start with a good contact cleaner (Radio Shack or photo store) and spray the snot out of both the camera contacts and lense (making VERY sure to protec ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera
Good day, I have a Nikon D1X. The shutter button when slightly depressed should engage the AF in the lens. The lens is a Tamron. The camera Auto Focuses fine when you press either of the two AF buttons on the rear of the camera body. Is there somewhere in the menu that controls this. Thanks, John
You are correct, there is a setting. Press Monitor, then Menu to get to the menu; go to the thitd menu option (looks like a pencil), select option 4 (AF Activation) and set it to ON (Shutter/AF ON). This will solve your problem. ... Nikon D1X Digital Camera
I have a Nikon D50 which I frequently interchanges lenses. My AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens has 3 plastic retention flanges attaching to the camera body, and two of these have broken off. Can this be repaired without me having to be without the lens for a long time? (Either by me or a local repair service?)
Without seeing pictures, I'd say you could TRY some plastic epoxy or some type of plastic-specific adhesive. i'm assuming you have the pieces that were broken off. otherwise, i'd say get a new lens...they are relatively reasonable used. ... Nikon d3000 I made the mistake of recently dropping my new D3000 (Was in a padded case, and only fell a small distance) but since the fall my pictures are not at all in focus and are very foggy. Everything else seems fine except for the fact that a small black piece of plastic fell out, though I am not sure if it fell out of the lens or the camera body. I have a Nikon D90 with 18-105 mm lens. Lately, the onboard flash has not been firing even when I try to enforce it by having the flash popped up. It will only fire if I do one of the following: 1) unmount the lens from the camera body and then re-mount it back on, which the flash will fire maybe once or twice and that's it!, or 2) switch on a different lens which definitely works with the flash firing every single time. What needs to be done? I purchased this lens last December (2009). Is

Lens error I keep this Elph in a tiny, padded Halliburton case because the last TWO I bought ended up with broken screens. I never had a problem, though lightly used.
