New SanDisk 4GB CF Card - Coolpix displays out of memory

\015 Formatted the card several times in the camera. Still shows out of memory. Will this card work in the 2100?\015

Answers :

This is because the Coolpix 2100 and 31000 models cannot handle a card\015\012of that large a capacity. As it's only a 2MP camera anyway it doesn't\015\012need it.

The Coolpix 2100/3100 will usually accept up to a 512MB\015\012CF card, and 1GB Lexar CF cards up to and including the 24x WA write\015\012accelerated (although write acceleration itself offers no benefits on\015\012this camera). With Sandisk only a plain old and now obsolete SDFB\015\012allows a 1GB card to be used and the regular Sandisk Ultra (not Ultra\015\012II or later) will only work up to 512MB.

The camera was\015\012discontinued long before these much larger CF cards were released and\015\012Nikon no longer actively support the product so no firmware updates\015\012will be available. The hardware wouldn't support such cards anyway.

Do other CF cards work in the 2100? If you regularly use a CF card no reason that the 4GB should not work.

I have a Lumix FZ35. I loaded some still pictures from a 4GB memory card onto my PC. After selecting several pictures into a new folder I began to edit several of the pictures to get them just right.
