I got a Nikon D5000 and 18-55mm lens. When I take pictures using focal between 18-24 mm the deep of field is not sharp especially for landscape pictures. I made at list 200 pictures (the same image) test and the conclusion was: between 18-24mm focal the far field is not clear but what it is close to lens is sharp. The sharpness is coming when I change the focal to 35-55mm. I got a Nikon 24-70mm lens only for test purpose and the same. My test was on different modes that means P, S, A, M, and Aut

I have had a Nikon CoolPix L110 for 10 months. I've never encountered a problem transferring pictures from my camera to my computer during this time...until now. When I connect my camera using the USB cable, Nikon Transfer opens as usual, but nothing happens after that. The source is not showing the camera. The camera works fine. I can view and take pictures. However, the difference this time is that my camera is full. Could that have something to do with it? I would like to be able to

Crash I greatly enjoyed the D70 until it suddenly stopped taking pictures. I got the dreaded ERR message. WE tried different batteries, lenses, cards, etc., but to no avail. This is a real bummer. I have used Nikons for 30 years. Currently, my F100 is also at Nikon. The back latch catches simply cracked and fell off! Plastic.A couple of years ago, the self-timer stopped working and Nikon had to replace the software circuits. (The warranty had run out.)

Grainy pictures I have had my Nikon Coolpix S8 camera for two years. At first the pictures were all very clear and I was very happy. If so, please advise giving me clear directions. I am camera illiterate. Please help me. Thank you.

There are many settings which may have been accidentally changed. I suggest that the easiest way for you to go back the factory settings would be to use the "reset" facility on the menu options. This will reset the camera to the way it was when it ... Nikon D50 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens

Downloading problem I bought a Nikon D80 in November of 2007 and it has been operating fine since. However today I tried to download some pictures onto my computer using Photoshop Elements 4.0. I have a Nikon CoolPix 4300 that is about 5 years old. I mostly use it in the Macro mode for close-up photos of the sewing thimbles I sell on eBay. The last two times I've used the camera, I can take only a few pictures (2 or 3) before the camera shuts itself off. It will come back on by itself, after a while, but I have to totally reset it to take only a few pictures, then it shuts off again. I have set the auto shut off to 30 minutes, but that didn't help. Dark pictures I have an Exilim EX-Z40 which i download to an apple powerbook via the USB link. The pictures when printed out look rather 'grey' rather than bright. This was very obvious when the camera SD card was recently printed out direct from a photolab rather than from the computer and compared to those printed out from the computer. The former were very 'bright' with fuller colours. SHould I be doing something different when connecting camera to computer?

Perhaps the lab is at fault? if iPhoto displays the pics with the correct dark/light profile then it is likely to be right. You can alter the profile in the edit window of iPhoto but it would seem the lab messed up. ... Casio Exilim EX-Z40 Digital Camera

I have a Nikon D80 camera that is about 1 year old. I has worked fine until about 6 months ago. Sometimes when I turn it on and press the button to take the picture nothing happens. I have to wait awhile and keep playing with the button and then it will finally take the picture and act normal. This happens inside and out. Sometimes the flash will pop up outside in direct sunlight. Do I have some settings wrong or why is it acting like this?

I have a Nikon S200 digital camera. I took some pictures last night, using the flash. When I flicked back through them, I found a problem. I would look at a picture as it was focusing, and after a few seconds when it was focused, it would distort in all different colors. Also, when I try to import those photos into iPhoto on my Macbook Pro, it says that the files are unrecognizable.

I have seen this problem on a few cameras, not limited exclusively to Nikon. Try replacing the memory card with another one, and make sure the camera is set to use the memory card vs. internal memory. It sounds as if the memory card is ... Digital Cameras
