When trying to take pictures of my motorcycle with all the led lights on at night the pictures keep coming out al blurry or very bright I have tried the settings on night time/ museum/ without the flash/ indoor party/ fireworks /none of which seem to take clear pictures my camera is a nikon coolpix 4800 any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Brian

Answers :

Most likely the problem is "Camera shake". This just means that being in the dark, the camera shutter speed is long enough that the natural shake of your hands make the picture blurry.
\015\012You've got a couple options. The easiest is to find a nearby object and use it to steady your hand as you take the picture. You can also get a tripod and use the time delay release on the camera. This will let you push the button (which shakes the camera) and then step back before it actually takes the picture.
\015\012If you're shooting fairly bright LED's on the bike, you also might go into manual mode on the camera and experiment with shorter shutter speeds. Most people can use a speed of 1/60 without too much blur, so start with that and move to shorter speeds (maybe 1/100 or less). With the manual speed, you may get enough light from the LED's to make a good picture.
\015\012If this doesn't work for you, post a comment and I'll check back every few days and give some more ideas. Your camera may have some other ways to work through this. Rear curtain flash would be the best, but I don't think it has it....

My old camera was an Olympus Camedia c-765 digital. My new one is an Olypmus SP-800UZ 14 megapixel. The more I use the SP-8OOuz the more disappointed with the pictures I take. None of them seem sharply in focus like they were with the Camedia camera. Am I doing something wrong or is it a failing in the camera? I have tried most of the multiple settings but I am just not satisified. I thought with having more megapixels I would get a better picture. Am I wrong? Thank you

Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in manual mode the camera will not let me set my aperture to 2.2 it usually stops at 4 and there is no way i can make it 2.2. i didn't know if there is a limitation on the camera but it seems like i should be able to select what i want.

It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.The differ ... Nikon Digital Cameras
