You probably have some moist (grease) on the lens, or the optics has been damaged, i.e. lenses are not longer aligned correctly.
This effect can be obtained by putting some vaseline on the lens, thus spreading the light that falls into the optics.

We have a new Cannon XS and haven't been able to view subjects through the LCD viewfinder. Subjects are only viewed through the eyepiece. How can we program the camera to use the LCD screen for viewing subjects? OR is there a problem with this (new) camera?

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.

Focus Problem I recently bought Olympus C-750. The real problem i have with it so far is that when I point the camera towrds the subject, its focus is adjusted automatically and the subject looks very focused and clear, but when i press the shutter button, the camera re-focuses and makes the subject blurr and in the end pictures come out very blurry. Kindly help me out with that, i.e: do i need to do some setting to avoid that??? and plus i cannot find the manuual focus option in the camera.

I have the C740, which I believe works very similarly if not identically. Unless you have the camera in full time auto focus, I don't believe it actually focuses on the subject until you've pressed the shutter button half way. Until then, the subject ... I'm not getting crisp, in-focus photos from my EV500 (they appear somewhat fuzzy). In a studio environment with 5500K softbox lighting, using a tripod and AF on a portrait subject, with ISO 125 in Manual and Portrait exposure. I also shot the same subject with a Cannon G10 and same settings. My Cannon photos were tack sharp, but my Olympus photos were not. Also, the Cannon colors were more realistic than the Olympus. The colors on the Canon appeared as they should using the daylight (5500K

Fuji finepix s1500 - difficult to get it to focus at close macro. I found that I have to have the lens at its widest angle for the camera to focus on a close subject - like at 2 cm like the manual says. If I zoom up just a bit then the focus changes and my close subject is out. Is this the way it is supposed to operate?

Yes. You won't have the same macro focussing ability at all focal lengths. But usually the important thing is that it's not how close the camera can focus, but how large the image is, so you'll often find that a longer focal length (i.e. ... Digital Cameras

Blury I just bought the Olumpus C 765. It is a really good camera. I am very happy with it. But when I try to take a picture indoor of a moving subject, between the focus time and the flash working the subject is very blury or out of the picture. Is there a way to fix that? Is it normal? Kodak DX6490 Hi, I have a Kodak DX6490.
