Cannot set "HI" Mode to shoot TIFF Images

\015 When I set "HI" mode and then shoot in "A" mode the camera switches to JPEG?\015

Answers :

In order to shoot "HI" TIFF images first set the Image Size option to either "5M 2592x1944" or "3:2 2592x1728." Next, choose "HI" as the Image Quality option.\015\012\015\012"HI" is only available in one of the manual exposure modes (P, S, A or M) and is not available in the "Auto" shooting mode. If "HI" is selected and the camera is switched to "Auto" the Image Quality will automatically switch to "FINE" mode and a JPEG image will be recorded.\015\012\015\012Additionally, "HI" is only available in "S" Single frame Continuous shooting.

My Panasonic DMC-TZ3 in any shooting mode produces the following both on the screen and in a captured image: a blurry, snowy, magenta-tinted (visual noise?) presentation. At one point, it produced several normal images, then returned to the problem. The playback mode produces normal images from sored normal images. I have never dropped the camera or exposed it to high heat or cold. I have 3 batteries and none produce any variance in the bad image. I've tied all settings and reset. Up until the
