Spots on image when using built-in Speedlight flash
\015 Sometimes when I take photos I get small, round, hazy spots on my images. They move around form shot to shot and are there wven after I cleaned the lens.\015
As is common in many compact digital cameras where the built-in flash is very close to the lens strange reflections can appear in images under certain conditions.\015\012\015\012Particulate matter in the air in front of the lens (between the camera and subject) such as water vapor (as in a cloudy day), smoke, dust or other items can reflect light directly into the lens causing neutral colored white/grey semi-transparent spots to appear in the image. \015\012\015\012In extreme examples there may be many of these spots in an image or there may be only one per image. Also, since these spots are completely random they will move or disappear from image to image. For example, if two images are shot consecutively with the same camera settings one image may have spots while the other is clean.\015\012\015\012To avoid these spots:\015\012\015\012When possible, avoid photographing in smoky, dust, or cloudy areas \015\012Do not use the camera's flash in locations such as above \015\012Use an external Speedlight flash if a flash is needed \015\012Review images on the camera and re-shoot if spots are visible \015\012Cleaning the lens will not have an effect on these spots, as the particles that cause this are not on the lens itself.

I have a Canon Digital EOS Rebel XT and the built-in flash no longer pops up when needed. This started happening after using a Canon speedlite, but then removing it. I've tried resetting everything, and tried all modes expecting that the ones listed in the manual as using a flash would work, but they dont, it never pops up. I lifted up the flash with my fingernail manually, and then tried taking a picture where a flash was most definitely needed, but it still had a long delay, no flash, and

The flash is either far too bright or not bright enough even when using the auto setting. The flash either doesn't flash at all on "soft flash" and then blinds people when the flash is turned on so it produces very dark faces or bright white images. I've tried using different scene modes but this does not seem to work.

Hi, I got a new ProSpec 4gb flash card and used it last night in my canon 40d. I forgot to format before I initially used it. Shot lots of great images that I could see on the camera back, but now I am getting the messages - can not create a folder, tried to shoot another image and is says cf card is full, and now I can't review on camera, it says there are no images. Tried Digital Photo recovery software and got nothing. Anything at all I can do? I'm tempted to format now and then see if I can
I do not have a solution, but I do have same problem, or a variation of it: filled my ProSpec 2GB, removed it from my Canon G10 to insert a fresh card, then later reinserted the ProSpec to transfer photos to computer. Several tries, and no go. First ... Canon Digital Cameras
I am using an Olympus E-500. and am trying to use the built in flash, set to one eight or to one sixty fourth of normal output, to trigger an external flash unit. If you have another lens, switch it and take some shots of the sky. If the spot is gone, it probably was the lens that needs cleaning/servicing. I first experienced a problem with my Canon S2Is camera when it was only taking pictures of blank images. I found a "fix" recommendation which seems to have gotten rid of the black image problem.
