Flash pops up, but flash closed warning stays

\015 In low light conditions the flash pops up correctly, but the warning message that the flash is in closed position stays on.\015\012When taking the picture anyway the flash does not fire and the resulting photo is to dark.\015

Answers :

My E5700 did this a couple of times. The fix for my flash was that the unit wasn't actually popping all the way open. I closed it, then manually poppped open the flash and gave it a gentle upward tug. The flash seemed to lock into position -- and has worked fine since. I hope your fix is as simple as with my E5700.

I hope this helps!

My Flash stop working, do i need to replace it? The built-in flash does not stay up. I can hear the clicking sound when it wants to pop up, but it stays in place. At this point it's pretty easy to open it manually, so I noticed what it seems to be a small spring on the right hand side. I guess it is there to hold the flash and it looks like it is off it's place. Is there a picture somewhere of how it is supposed to assembled? Thanks in advance, Gene
