Having problems with your Nikon Coolpix 8700 Digital Camera ?

I'm using my Nikon coolpix 8700 to take photos of museum objects so the photos need to be of a fairly high standard, but the photos are coming out just slightly out of focus. Where am I going wrong? Thanks

Answers :

If these are close up photos, the depth of field will be shallow. You need to raise the ISO to force the camera to close down the aperture and increase the depth of field. Also, the use of a tripod or monopod will greatly increase your chances of taking a sharp picture.

I have a Nikon D40 which is coming upto being two years old. Recently I have noticed that the auto-focus will not work. If I manually focus I can still take photos but when auto is engaged it will not even try to focus and therefore will not allow me to take a photo. I have not made any changes to the settings and therefore I am concerned it is a hardware fault. The lens in question is the standard lens supplied with the camera and is the only lens I have so have been unable to check t

Focus problems Hi, my camera is not focusing clearly. We just used it recently and can look at clear pictures on the display screen but now when we go to actually take a picture it's blury (on the display screen and if a picture is taken). I also notice that all these different setting menu's come up on the display screen when we are in take picture mode. I took it in today and they said the lens could have been bumped or that their is something wrong with the focusing inside. So they would hav

BLURRY PHOTO'S Wen you go to take a picture the image shows up fine in the veiw screen until you push the button to acctually take the photo then it gets blurry and the picture will come out blurry at the end of the process and it's not because of unsteady hands holding the camera do you have any clue as to what may be wrong with the camera.

I have a focusing problem with my SD750. Photos are coming out slightly blurry when I press the shoot button quickly now - but it's OK when I press the buton very slowly. Is there a way to correct this ??

When the Camera Is In Manual Mode, It will not Change Focus... I spin the wheel and nothing happens. LCD White-out I have had this Fuji FinePix A350 since Christmas 2006. This August while on vacation and taking quite a few pictures with a new 1GB XD card, the LCD screen would come on with a blank white screen as the camera was turned on. I continued to take photos using the optical viewfinder to frame my pictures, hoping that it was still working even if I couldn't view them. Fortunately, all the photos did come out fine even though some were totally out of focus (focusing was sometimes a prob

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.

Focus problem I have had my nikon d-60 for one year. I have always had problems with the focus. I have tried focus locking on my subject and slightly moving the camera, I have tried not moving the camera focusing the camera, I have tried multiple settings. Hi i just bought a canon eos rebel from someone online and it has a 28-80 lens. I try to use it and i noticed the focus is very loose, is that normal? I dont know alot about cameras but i have used manual cameras before and i have never used one with such a loose focus. And also would i lose slight focus if its like that when i go and take a picture?

Your camera is primarily an autofocus model: manual focussing is very much a secondary feature and is always very free moving. If it were any other way then it would cause the AF motor to work much harder and dramatically shorten the battery life. ... Canon EOS Rebel 2000 with 28-80 lens 35mm Film Camera

Lens Problem I have a C-8080 and I like it but I'm not sure if it is working 100%. The lens barrel is sloppy from side to side and clunks slightly when moving it quickly. It has been that way since it was new. It has some issues with auto focus as well. It has a hard time focusing on clouds and soft objects at infinity. I called Olympus when I bought the camera and mentioned the sloppy lens barrel and they told me that that is the way there made. It is slow to focus when going from close objects
